| Derreek05-20-07, 12:06 AM | At level 17 monks get the Tongue of the Sun and Moon feat. It says speak to any living creature. My question is that can they understand them as well? |
| Steelwind05-20-07, 07:16 AM | Yes |
| Derreek05-21-07, 02:53 PM | gah...too many rules lawyers saying that they can speak to all living creatures but not understand...Is there somewhere to find that more clearly? |
| Lord Karsus05-22-07, 12:25 AM | -This really belongs in th D&D General section, since this really has nothing to do with the Realms. -Anyway, the description of the ability only says 'speak'. It says nothing about understanding. So... |
| Another Gnome05-22-07, 03:35 AM | Speak Language skill says nothing about understanding a spoken language either, only that you know the language and that you can read and write it. :P But seriously: the wording is "speak with" not "speak to", and while English is not my native language, I would presume that speaking with someone has a strong implication of mutual understanding. |
| Dielzen05-22-07, 08:41 AM | Aye, what AGnome said re: with And if your DM still wants to mess with you, just hold your conversation with ink, quill and parchment. The Speak Language skill CLEARLY says that will work. |
