R.A.S. Books good start? [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-19-06, 10:23 AM Ok, my charecter is based in FR so i desided to read the FR books.Is the Drizzt book line gonna let me know alot about FR or are there better books?

If I had to recomend some novel I'd recomend anything by Elaine Cunningham as much better introduction to the FR [possibly even introduction to D&D].

But as a best intro to FR I'd recomend Volo's Guide's series [2nd edition campaign accessories] because they were written in the form of travel guide. Three of them [North, Cormyr and Dalelands] can be found as free downloads on WotC download page here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads).

09-24-06, 09:05 PM for the underdark do War of the Spider Queen, and for the surface I would recommend Servant of the Shard, Promise of the Witch King, and the Icewind Dale series all by R.A. Salvatore.
