| MerrikCale09-19-06, 09:41 PM | they are some of the best, but have little reprecussion for the rest of faerun, last trilogy notwithstanding. |
| Ripe09-20-06, 02:48 AM | They're good, but they are not good introduction into FR. In fact, I'm not sure that any novel would be good introduction to the FR. If I had to recomend some novel I'd recomend anything by Elaine Cunningham as much better introduction to the FR [possibly even introduction to D&D]. But as a best intro to FR I'd recomend Volo's Guide's series [2nd edition campaign accessories] because they were written in the form of travel guide. Three of them [North, Cormyr and Dalelands] can be found as free downloads on WotC download page here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads). |

The Volo guides are very good. |
| createvmind09-20-06, 09:35 PM | Read the Realms novels which contain different stories throughtout the lands and timeline. |
| Manshoon1309-24-06, 09:05 PM | for the underdark do War of the Spider Queen, and for the surface I would recommend Servant of the Shard, Promise of the Witch King, and the Icewind Dale series all by R.A. Salvatore. |
