Okay, question asked for a pal whose english is still.... very under the official bilinguism requirements.

This pal want suggestion as to where put the famous Castle Ravenloft and the region in Forgotten Realms, adapted of course (new or old and converted module(s), not sure).

Basicaly, I need suggestion for a region that match Barovia of Ravenloft - your classic dark central/eastern europe from gothic tales. Perhaps the north of the Uther East that Markus worked on?

Gimme your hints, tips and ideas.

-The module Castle Spulzeer (which I believe can be downloaded for free from the WotC downloads page), has an ending that feeds right into Ravenloft, if the DM wants to take it in that direction. Perhaps you can make Castle Spulzeer and Castle Ravenloft switch places?

-Rasheman is very 'Russian/Eastern European', and could 'contain' Castle Ravenloft fairly easily.

Expedition to Castle Ravenloft suggests putting Barovia in Damara, I think.

That area has the closest thing FR has to the Euro-Slavic feel of Translvania.

Damara, or perhaps on the border somewhere, between that nation and Narfell, or even in Northern Cormyr - I placed a town called Collinwood SE of Eveningstar, with the sole purpose of having a 'Count Dracula' type of NPC ruling the place.

You could even make it a petty Kingdom in the North somewhere, just like that one that appeared in that Wulfgar novel.

i suggest getting ahold of "Castle Spulzeer" and "The Forgotten Terror" PDF's. You don't need to merge the different settings; they were always meant to coexist.

Pretty much Barnabis Collins in FR, and the Halflings that fled Black Oaks during the Avatar Crisis resettled there.
