Is the sort of a default Ream Year? Any info on it? I couldn't find the weather in Waterdeep on the main page.

It's currently 1374 and that Waterdeep weather thing has been gone from the site for at least a year. :)

If it is 1374 already, could anyone fill me in on anything big that happens in 1373 the Year of Rogue Dragons? Our group just ended the month of Hammer in 1373 kicking off the new year with a coronation on the Feast of Midwinter, but outside of my own campaigns and the approaching end of City of the Spider Queen campaign what happens?

Read Richard Byer's Rogue Dragons novels...

Basically, dragons are raging in 1373. :)

That is so awesome, since it ties in perfectly with my long going background campaign with bringing some old characters out of the woodwork. A quasi-diety character in the service of Tiamat (about CR 30-40 I am working out the kinks and haven't play-tested his update) is bringing a ruckus in the beginning of this year, gathering his dragon-armies to his island and flying citadel. In the currently running campaign, we have a Red Dragonspawn Sorcerer 17 named Fenix that has begun having disturbing dreams of rampaging and slaughter, he doesn't know why it is happening but he loves it. He also feels something calling him but doesn't know what. I can't quite recall the name of it off hand, but I have the comet that inspired the dragon rage en route, and he has already seen a Red Dragon jumping the gun getting ansy (it annihilated one of the towns on the isle of prespur before returning to the Dragon Isle, the pirates there give them-mated pair-scwhag to leave them alone, but Fenix found out that one of those was jumped by a silver dragon and slain for the attack, while a massive green took down the silver -The great green dragon Haze is about CR30 - I might post her up here soon, she is the closest thing I have to a dragon overlord in the realms). Once my group is done with Bastion of Broken Souls, I think they are in for whirl of a time since until now I have kept a low profile with dragons in the campaigns I am running. The only dragon they have fought up to now was the young black in Forge of Fury, while there next dragon will be Ashardalon in Bastion of Broken Souls hehe. :P Back to my question though, what was the name of the comet that inspires the dragon rage? Is that supposed to happen in this year, or should I take a different road?

The Killer Star didn't cause 1373's dragon rage. :) I'm not spoiling it for others and plus that'll be to close to novel discussion.....

-You know, I just realized that the Waterdeep weather watcher is gone. I hardly ever go to the Wizard's FR page (instead, I just click my link directly to here). I sorta liked that thing. Sorry to see it go...

-Ah, Ashardalon the Dragon. My group half completed that module. Punk Cathezar, or whatever the hell her name was...

I actually didn't think the Cathezar was that impressive. Ya, the first time you fight her she uses cheap tactics to eliminate a party member, and can deal out awesome amounts of damage in melee (my grey orc below had to cast heal on himself twice fighting her off), oh and that 50% summon Balor was helpful. But...my group actually spanked her both times they fought her. The first time she didn't get away with the PC, getting finished off by a finger of death from Nurn (the death slaad, she made her save but damage killed her). When I read ahead and realized the encounters would be so difficult, we recruited some extra people. This is our current group by player: Anton (controls Nurn the death slaadi, and Fenix male dragonspawn sorcerer 17), Ion (controls Barthlemy Bendelstein IV a rogue 10 / fighter 4 / telflammar shadowlord 4 & Tharkano a half celestial fighter 4 / fallen paladin 4 / blackguard 7) & myself controlling Gullah (Grey Orc Clr 14/Brb 2/Ftr 2 - I actually screwed up, from clr 12 I meant to take 2 levels of orc warlord, but forgot since I was busy running the campaign and hadn't played him in awhile). We also have several back-up PC's to call in case these should fall (namely Thutothmes in my sig, and his Thayan Knight Izual Ftr 12 / Thayan Knight 5 mineral warrior), as well as some help from the hells courtesy of Tharkano. Quite the collection eh? my players are right proud of themselves with these characters. Oh yeah, I have been thinking about Tharkano, who used to be Aevin. Now that he is fallen, do you guys think I should start some mad dream sequences that involve him losing his half-celesial abilities to be replaced with fiendish abilities (i.e. swap holy aura for unholy aura etc.), also he wants to take the fiend of blasphemy class in fiend folio, but does he qualify as an outsider? I thought you couldn't be a native outsider but I might be wrong. Ah yes, and I also had her summoned Balor explode upon death dealing out 100pts to everyone, but should that apply with a summoned Balor? I am not sure how PM's work, but I wouldn't mind if you tried me Kuje, I try and keep my campaigns as close to the canonical realms as possible, and hate having to take back wrong info to correct myself later.

-We never got that far. We faced her twice- once in the initial encounter, and once in order to throw us back on track of the mission. Yeah, she certainly used cheap tactics...

-And next year, 1375, is the Year of Risen Elf Kin. I like the sound of that!

You just watch as a rampaging flight of tressyms lays waste to Waterdeep in 1375, and the Moonstars, realizing this is the battle they've been preparing for, take to the skies... ;)

-Don't underestimate a rampaging flight of Tressym. Imagine the impact that would have on the city! Chaos in the streets! Pandamonium! It's a good thing we have such a proactive group like the Moonstars around. Without them, who knows what kinds of destruction would be wrought?
