Razz 08-24-05, 10:38 AM	Does anyone know what happened with 2005? There are and were no releases of new regional books, and the schedule for 2006 has no FR regional books so far up until May! Whatever happened to two regional books per year? Is Forgotten Realms dying or something?

Razz 08-24-05, 03:07 PM	Ah yes, forgot about Waterdeep. I guess it slipped my mind because it's a city and not much of a region. And I assume LEoF was also a "regional" supplement, but if not, FR only released 1 regional book this year instead of 2, and nothing FR regional is slated for half of 2006. I hope there's like 3 regional books or something by the latter half fo 2006. :(

I hope there's like 3 regional books or something by the latter half fo 2006. :( We usually get one FR book a quarter. We know that Power of Faerun will be the Q1 product. There isn't a Q2 product listed yet, but that quarter lasts until the end of June, so even if all the products up to the end of May are listed, that still leaves a whole month for the Q2 product to be released (so expect it in June next year).
Kid SixXx 08-24-05, 08:03 PM	Whatever happened to two regional books per year? Is Forgotten Realms dying or something? FR has had adventures in the last two editions of Dungeon ("Blood of Malar" in #127, and "Dungeon of the Crypt" set in Waterdeep in #128). I'd hardly say that the FR is dying.
jim9311 08-24-05, 08:44 PM	razz- I've been more than harsh about the lack of support for FR, but i've been impressed lately with an increase in support. hardcovers, web articles and even the number of novels seem to have increased in both quantity and frequency. I feel better about the future of the realms now than i have in the last few years.
Razz 08-25-05, 12:35 AM	No, I highly doubt FR is dying, that was just me exaggerating (a tad too much I say! heh). But it was just surprising we only got 1 regional book this whole year, with plenty of more Faerunian regions (and outside-Faerun regions) to go! It's cause I'm impatient. I figure the more we get Faerunian regional books out the way, the closer we will be to seeing Kara-Tur, Maztica and Zhakara return to 3E, plus even the other Terra Incognita lands! I know. I have supremely high hopes. It's possible I'll be 35 by the time they do such a thing, but by then 4E would be out (which, I too, hope isn't the case, 3.5 is just too awesome).
GothicDan 08-25-05, 12:40 AM	Waterdeep justifies itself as it's own region. It's effectively a city state that cannot be easily lumped into the rest of the Sword Coast. I mean, it's the Faerunian city, just as much as Myth Drannor is the ruins, or Elminster is the Sage. :)
