| Elvenknight_Cologne11-11-05, 03:54 AM | Hello, at first, sorry for my terrible english :-) Which publications does Wizards plan to release for the Forgotten Realms in 2006? Could you tell me everything what you know, what is already secure and which rumors there are? I know only about the book Moonsee. Thanks from Germany, Elvenknight :-) |
| dragonfriend11-11-05, 04:03 AM | "Power of Faerun" is another 2006 release. |
| Elvenknight_Cologne11-11-05, 04:06 AM | thanks :-) Is this the equivalent to "Lords of Darknes"? |
| Mr. Wilson11-11-05, 04:09 AM | Negative. It deals more with higher level campaign issues. Also I believe there is a Moonsea region sourcebook due out next year. |
| Elvenknight_Cologne11-11-05, 04:19 AM | Yes, you're belive right *smile* Here is the Cover for the book http://www.wocillo.com/moonsea.htm |
| BrianCritchley11-11-05, 04:38 AM | the moonsea honestly strikes me as a near ideal place to adventure. especially for a CG aprty. |
| Elvenknight_Cologne11-11-05, 04:51 AM | Yes, i think it, too. My Group is CG, CG, CG, CN, NG. Give it more informations about coming FR products, we have Moonsea and Power of Faerūn....more not? :weep: |
| Cainan11-11-05, 07:39 AM | I can't be certain, but there has apparently been some hints about some products dealing with the elves. I know there is a couple novels, but I also remember little hints at some sort of sourcebook. Perhaps dealing with the Return and maybe some of the elven nations around Faerun and hopefully some of the good drow. Now, don't take this too seriously as the hints have been pretty subtle and I may have interpreted some incorrectly. But just thought I'd throw that out there. |
| Oghmanyte11-11-05, 08:37 AM | the moonsea honestly strikes me as a near ideal place to adventure. especially for a CG aprty. I agree and am very excited about the book. It seems strange to me that regions like the Shining South and Unapproachable East were fleshed out in supplements before the Moonsea--both books had a lot to offer, of course--but the Moonsea seems like a more standard starting place and more self-contained as a realm for adventuring. I'm not complaining, though! P.S. I hope it's five hundred pages long and gives one hundred pages to Phlan (I'm a fan of the old-school Pool of Radiance). |
| Slime Lord11-11-05, 10:17 AM | I'm game with the Sourcebook 'Powers of Faerun' (Working title remember), because my ever-so-forming Campaign "Triangle of Three" is more of HighLevel if not Epic campaign involving a great deal of stuff. I mean come on, when you have three gods like Lathander/Amaunthor, Selune and Chauntea all create a powerful artifact together, it has to be badass :) So, I can't wait to see what's in Powers because I believe Valor really doesn't hold a great deal for me like I was hoping.. |
| Kuje3111-11-05, 10:42 AM | The Moonsea doesn't have much info on Phlan, we have been told. And didn't we just have a thread like this? :) |
| Oghmanyte11-11-05, 12:56 PM | The Moonsea doesn't have much info on Phlan, we have been told. And didn't we just have a thread like this? :) Well, I wasn't *actually* expecting 100 pages on it... ;). Where's the other thread so that I can take a look at it? |
| Kuje3111-11-05, 02:55 PM | Well, I wasn't *actually* expecting 100 pages on it... ;). Where's the other thread so that I can take a look at it? I think it might get barely a page. :) And the other thread: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=531536 |
| BrianCritchley11-11-05, 07:38 PM | my guess is the big city moonsea focuses on will be Zhentil Keep. |
| Iakhovas11-11-05, 07:45 PM | ...which shows you just how out of touch WotC is with their fan base. The Moonsea doesn't have much info on Phlan, we have been told. |
| Kuje3111-11-05, 07:47 PM | my guess is the big city moonsea focuses on will be Zhentil Keep. And you would be mostly right. :) |
| Old Sage11-11-05, 07:47 PM | my guess is the big city moonsea focuses on will be Zhentil Keep.I'm not so sure about that. Ed has told me in the past that both the Darkhold and parts of Black Network operations in and around the Moonsea are covered slightly by an NDA. Whether it was in anticipation of what we'd eventually learn about the situation in the new MOONSEA sourcebook is debatable. And the fact that the NDA also includes the Darkhold... which isn't anywhere near the Moonsea, could suggest otherwise. |
| BobROE11-11-05, 10:19 PM | ...which shows you just how out of touch WotC is with their fan base. Why? I have no interest in Phlan, so maybe they're just catering to me. |
| BrianCritchley11-11-05, 11:48 PM | ...which shows you just how out of touch WotC is with their fan base. I dunno I for one would rather have more information on Zhentil Keep then Phalan, simply because Zhentil keep is likely to figure MUCH more prominatly in many games. |
| meigin11-13-05, 12:21 AM | lets just hope for a bit of inovation - the Moonsea has so much to offer in gameplay - it's a smorgas board of adventure!!! |
| Wil_Upchurch11-13-05, 03:19 AM | lets just hope for a bit of inovation - the Moonsea has so much to offer in gameplay - it's a smorgas board of adventure!!! Indeed... |
| Dargoth11-13-05, 03:46 AM | Indeed... Your a bloody tease Wil! :D |
| Brenigin11-13-05, 03:57 AM | Okay, i'm sticking my neck out here, but I've got a prediction. The hints have been that Mysteries of the Moonsea is a little different to what we're used to, format-wise. Particularly, it's not a straight-up regional sourcebook. Sooo...I think it will fall somewhere between regional-info-with-plot-hooks and full-blown-adventure - maybe a very detailed backdrop for a whole campaign's worth of loosely mapped out adventures? Warm? Cold? Freezing? Efreeti's-Kitchen-in-the-City-ofBrass? C'mon Wil, we won't tell... |
| BrianCritchley11-13-05, 05:03 AM | personally I'm quite content with the regional SB format as is. |
| Dargoth11-13-05, 05:55 AM | Just so long as it doesnt use the ghastly Serpent Kingdoms format (Which I dont think they will as, its called Mysteries of the MOONSEA) |
| Razz11-13-05, 11:26 AM | It's a MOONSEA regional book not a Zhentil Keep regional book. I'd rather have an equal presentation of the famous areas, which includes Phlan, than half the book be about Zhentil Keep. Personally, I really hope it covers The Ride and Thar, because there hasn't been almost no info at all on those regions so far. |
| Old Sage11-13-05, 11:34 AM | Personally, I really hope it covers The Ride and Thar, because there hasn't been almost no info at all on those regions so far. There's the Elminster's Ecologies boxed set of course, that covers both the Great Gray Land of Thar, and also has a few details about the Ride. |
| BrianCritchley11-13-05, 01:16 PM | every other region'll be covered I'm sure but given the position of Zhentil keep (controling most of the region) we'll proably get an aweful lot on it simply because they'll have to |
| Deep Dragon11-14-05, 01:08 PM | sequel to Promise of the Witchking - in October 2006: The Road of the Patriarch by RA Salvatore I sincerely hope that WotC follows up these two novels with a Cold Lands sourcebook RA wrote the last sourcebook from that area back in 1989 i think, and much has changed in that area could be wrong but I think it is a pretty popular area for DnD campaigns |

| Mr.Moonrat11-15-05, 05:51 AM | Thanks for the information friends :) Do you know when all 2006 products for FR will be official? I mean, we are not far away from next year. Time for some more info if you ask me! |
| Dargoth11-15-05, 06:39 AM | Thanks for the information friends :) Do you know when all 2006 products for FR will be official? I mean, we are not far away from next year. Time for some more info if you ask me! I recall that they normally stick the first trimester of products up around Nov/Dec, so more than likely quite soon |
| KenderBryant11-15-05, 01:26 PM | Regarding the Moonsea, I hope that even if they don't give a lot of info on Phlan, they at least have a lot of info on the different types of pools. I personally would love a Pool of Radiance, Pool of Darkness or a Pool of Twilight adventure, not using the original modules. Do you think they'll have a Moonshae sourcebook coming soon? I love the Isles because it's like doing a campaign in Ancient Ireland/Britain. |
| Doormouse32111-28-05, 11:01 PM | Some box set adventures would be outstanding. I loved running the 2nd ed ones 'dragon mountain' 'rod of seven parts' to name a few. I mean c'mon, something with a little more meat than 'sons of gruumsh' or whatever. 'City of the spider Queen' was ok. I like making most of my campaigns from scratch but its nice once in a while to take the party through a official one once in a while. |

Since Wizards has taken over, we don't have any more 'Box' sets. They would be fun, informative and great for players really. There was talk over on Candlekeep about Undermountain, and how the levels should be put into a 'Box of' and all that fun stuff, which I think would be a fair spot todo (If done correctly of course...) |
