Breaking news just received..... The Forgotten Realms are no longer forgotten. Earlier today we received confirmation that a portal to the Realms has been rediscovered. Experts have certified that the danger to patrons using the portal is minimal, and confidently predict regular travel arrangements to this fascinating world will be in place later this year.

*Cut to expert with serious expression and professorial glasses confidently predicting regular travel arrangements to this fascinating world will be in place later this year.*

It has just been announced that Richard Cook (creator of fine pastries and expert on the Realms) will be organising tours to the Realms in association with Sturgeon Atlantic Airlines. Tickets for these tours are expected to be in great demand.....

*cut to large group of D&Ders outside the offices of Sturgeon Airlines waving placards demanding tickets*

..... but it is extremely likely those wizards who dwell in coastal regions will have no difficulty procuring first class bookings.

Ok folks you now have the chance to visit our beloved (or not so beloved) Remembered Realms in person .... not as your character but as the real you, the one sitting at the keyboard and reading this.

Where would you like to go, and what would you like to see ... remembering of course you only have your real skills, feats and equipment to protect you from the dark denizens and numerous dangers that haunt the Reams.

Hmmm the Moonshaes, Shadowdale, and possibly Waterdeep or Silverymoon. :)

I'd love to visit Waterdeep, but only if i had loads of money to spend. I think I could probably sell a few items (like my spare watches) to make enough money to stay in the very best inns.

I'd love to go to that inn where there are magical sparlking spheres, and you can go inside them when they float into the sky. to be honest ... I'd love to see anything magical! Also I'd love to hear as much music as I possibly could.

Heh, well. There are plenty to see in the realms, but I probaly just move in there and become a adventurer :D.

But for places; Waterdeep, Silverymoon, Tethyr, Candlekeep, Baldur's Gate and Cormyr (of course when having S&W 357magnun revolver and few hired guards).

What can we bring with us? That would be a major determinant for where we would go. I mean can we bring firearms or is the airline still all freaked about terrorists? :smirk:

Aside from that, I'd make my way to the nearest Wizard's tower and beg to be taught. MAGIC MAGIC MAGIC all the way. Then I'd retire to live with halflings, because really, they have the right idea. Food and fun. Plus I'd be a giant among them.

I would really like to see Eltabbar, but since I'm not Mulan, that would not be the best idea.
Other places I'd like to see, but could never do, since I'm not the right race would be Menzoberranzan, Ooltul and most of all Oryndoll. Being able to see these great cities deep in the earth.. wow..

If I had the gold, Mantol-Derith would be perfect.

But since I only have my levels as Exp, I think it would be safest in Waterdeep, Neverwinter and places like that.

Seeing as how I am a 3rd level Smart Hero/1st Level Dedicated Hero, I guess I'd be best off in some area that isn't overrun with hordes of badguys. I'd probably be at home in either Lurien(As mentioned above, food and fun.), or in Shadowdale(The possibility of running into Elminster, however small, would make me able to die happy.).

First I would sell everything I own in this world besides my realms books(takeing them with me). I would purchase arms and equipment, and a 4 wheeler before going(since there is a connection to realms I would get a bag of holding and fill it with canisters of gas). Then any money i had left i would trade it in for gold.
I would then ride across the land looking at the spectacular sights and abbundance of races and communitys. I would attempt to learn magic if I have the ability and some roguish ability.
I would go to Halruaa, waterdeep, calimport, silverymoon. Then if I have survived this treck(would be a feat in its self) i would search for a portal to sigil and start all over there and many other planes.
Then hopefully I would reach a ripe old age(after I have exaused life extending magics) and happily die on the 1st layer of mount celestia.

Buy a one-way ticket, 'cause I'm not going back...

First off, a trip to Luskan where I'd teach the gnomes and Gondsmen what I learned in gunsmithing school and working as a machinist, to earn some gold.

Then, a whirwind tour: The Moonshaes, Waterdeep, Silverymoon, Evereska (if the elves will let me in, that is), Cormyr, Shadowdale, Raven's Bluff... maybe Aglorand, but that's as close as I'm going to Thay...

Then find a nice place to settle down, set up shop, raise a family, and live happily ever after. (Hey, this is a fantasy realm, why not?)

I'd like to visit ShadowDale or Waterdeep, and go to Undermountain, but thats just if i felt like killing myself. I'm a pretty good Tech/Mechanics person, so i guess i'd go check out a temple of Gond

I'd like to see Evermeet the most, but it would be hard... But for a more realistic target Silverymoon or Cormyr. Also I would like to visit Shadowdale... maybe bump into Storm Silverhand

Myth Drannor. During the Arcane Age. (Hey, my portal was back in time. ;))

If it weren't so tough not to get enslaved, I would love to visit the City of Shade. I've always thought that it must be the most beautiful city in the realms - Netherese architecture is lovely!!

As a second choice, I would pick Silverymoon. It's another nice city (the Moonbridge , naked dancers in the taverns  ), plus the Arcane College beckons me - I mean, would you rather learn magic from an old, wizened, gruffy wizard or in a school with lots of fellow students to discuss and experiment spells with? Thanks to the magical wards, you can even have fun with otherwise 'risky' magic, since you are protected from, say, mistaking the verbal component and casting a point-blank fireball instead of fabricate.

I'd take a quick tour of some of the big cities and interesting places - Waterdeep, Halruaa (airship rides!), and Luskan and then it's off to Sigil to join up with the Sensates!

Candlekeep, Baldur's Gate, Waterdeep, Cormyr, The Dales
in that order
Candlekeep first cos then i (might) be able to learn something about magic, become 1st level mage or something, then go out and see as much as i could, hopefully travelling with rangers, since i love that profession...after having seen all those cities, then id travel through the wildlands, only going into cities every once in a while
