Hello

I am a student at the University of Huddersfield (UK), and I am writing my dissertation on character creation in Dungeons and Dragons.

I am looking for participants who are willing to answer a questionnaire and return it to me by email. The only requirements are that you are over 18 years of age and consider yourself an experienced player of Dungeons and Dragons (for example you have been playing for more than 2 years and/or play frequently)

So if you have 10 minutes to spare, please consider taking part in my survey by following this link: http://nlbartle.googlepages.com/home

All responses will be treated in strict confdentiality, and I will make a copy of the project (when it is finally finished!) available to anyone who is interested in reading it

Thank you

Natalie

-It's against the CoC to "ask for help with homework".

She's not asking for "help with homework", she's asking for data to use for a research project.

-It's the same concept. People do stuff like this in the Rec-Room every so often, and the WizO's cite that the boards are not a place to ask for help with homework, which effectivley this is, and then lock the threads.

Where in the code of conduct (http://boards1.wizards.com/community_coc.php) does it specify that there must be no requests for homework help?

Sorry, but there is a rule we WizOs have elisted regarding homework. If we let one person ask, then everyone will want help with their homework. It appears you got help anyway. Good luck with your class.

Personally I wouldn't consider this help with homework. Providing data for something that is needed to even start the homework is much different than helping with homework.

Let the WizO's sort this one out.

-They don't care about us, which, I guess, is a good thing.

I agree. Were he asking us to help with an assignment, that was meant to be done singularly, that would be different. But as it is part of the assignment to collect the data needed to complete said assignment, it becomes a different kind of help, and thus IMO, outside the typical "help" (Help being code for 'do my homework for me') that is generally asked for..

I think that more than anything LK was just giving a warning, ahead of time, to be helpful. :)

Anyway, I did the survey.

-If I wanted to be an ass, I would have PMed a WizO and reported the thread.
