In the Ask Richard Baker thread, Rich stated that the Fire Knife Assassin will feature in a 2005 FR product. Speculations?

- A Cormyr/Sembia/Dalelands book as has been mooted repeatedly;
- A Wesgate or Dragon Reach sourcebook;
- Another "Evil Organisations" book (unlikely due to LoD?)

I can't think of another likely option that this PrC would be in...

Westgate/Dragon Reach would be neat, I've always been interested in that area... But it has been recently covered in Cloak and Dagger pretty fully.

Here's hoping it's a Cormyr source!

Your quote is actually incorrect

Rich said "The Fire Knife assassin is done. We're going to include it in a 2005 book."

Note the lack of an FR reference

Now call me Cynical but I suspect that the FKA is going to end up as one of those horriable generic PrCs thats had all the FR life sucked out of it

In short, I think FKA is PrCs going to turn up in a "Complete Rogue" sourcebook (note: no Complete Rogue has been announced yet, but weve already got a Complete Fighter with a Complete Divine coming out next month and a Complete Arcane coming out towards the end of the year so I expect to see a "Complete Rogue" in 1st or 2nd quarter 2005)

I would agree with this - it seems that a "Complete X" book is released every 6 months or so (November for CW, May for CD, and November again for Complete Arcane).

So it stands to reason that the FKA will appear in May or November next year (I would bet on May).

Isn't it in PGtF? There's definitely an illustration for it in that book, as evidenced by the art gallery on the WotC site.

nope, the PrC was intended for PGtF, but it never made the cut. The art was still in the gallery, but not in the book. (lots of other art in the gallery thats not in the book also)

But aren't the Fire Knives only suppossed to be active around Cormyr and Westgate? I can't see them being in the waterdeep book...

I doubt it will be in one of the D&D books personally. If it isn't in a Forgotten Realms book it will be in Dragon Magazine. The only FR class in a D&D book is the Red Wizard, as an example of how to do a prestige class that represents membership in an organization...

Then there's the Thayan Knight and Purple Dragon Knight in Complete Warrior also...

I think they're right about it probably being included in Complete Sneaky-stuff, or what not. (Just what in the hell are they going to call it?)

And the Complete Divine will have a reprint of the Black Flame Zealot...
