| Herr Doktor10-07-03, 03:18 PM | A PC in my campaign is interested in creating a rogue with a Robinhood style demeanor toward the wealthy, arrogant, and cruel. He's a Rogue, and Chaotic Good. What deity best supports this concept? Any help is will be highly appreciated! |
| avian tiefling10-07-03, 07:18 PM | this character's personality (though not his class) seems to be similar to that of Drizzt, who despises the cruelty of the drow societyand is a rogue in that respect. Miliki may be fitting, as she seems to favor those who oppose any who abuse the power they might have over others. she seems to be the patron godess of most chaotic good characters. if i come up with something else, i'll let you know. |
| Xae'an10-08-03, 08:05 PM | I agree with that, Mielikki would propably be a fine choice, at least if most of the character's activities take place in forests, otherwise he would have little reason to worship the Forestqueen despite his alignment. Shaundakul might be the right god for him as well if he likes travelling. He could also worship Selune, who is one the more powerful CG deities. |
| TinySilverChalice10-08-03, 08:35 PM | I stand by my suggestion of Waukeen. Robin Hood was about robbing the rich to help the poor: "redistrubution of wealth". Perhaps he might give good nods to Tymora, for to be bold gets the gold which you give to the timid. "Perhaps the poor have had enough bad luck in their lives; it's my job to give them some good luck," he might say. Maybe even Lathander. Nothing gives people hope than giving them new opportunities than with gold "rightfully taken" from those who would spend it on selfishness and greed. Offer the poor people a "new life" with their newly aquired monies. Yes, it's slightly off-centered and contradictory thinking, but as history shows (*cough*Dawn Cataclism*cough*), Lathander is full of this sort of thinking. I don't really think Mielikki becuause Robin Hood classically didn't live in the forst because of any affection he might have for them. He and his "merry men" lived their because they were outlaws and living in the city would mean death or prison for them. The woods were a good hiding place: nothing more. If you weren't good, I'd almost like to say Bashaba. "The rich have had enough good luck, I'm the agent of bad luck to them and good luck to those who have had enough bad luck for their lifetime," he could say. |

| CaptainNifty10-09-03, 12:22 PM | Tymora would be my first choice. A second choice would be Lathander. The morning lord does have renewal in his portfolio, and the redistribution of wealth is most definitely a renewing process. For creativity purposes, Finder Wyvernspur could be an appropriate choice as well. Finder is a patron of bards, as well as having renewal in his portfolio. |
| Gadodel10-10-03, 04:34 AM | I'd go for Oghma...cause the character would have an awesome story worth telling. Sylvanus would be cool too, just because it would be an unlikely choice. An often underused Deity. |

Often the non human trickster deities like to see pranks, thefts etc played out on those who are not from their own race. My impression is that although these deities like a good joke and can have a very sharp sense of humour unlike their Earth counterparts they aren't malicious. From the non human pantheons - Erevan Ilesere (elven), Brandobaris (halfling), Garl Glittergold (gnome) fit the bill for this. |
