| Ivid03-18-05, 06:36 AM | Hello, I’ve a question about a particular module: Some years ago I stumbled on an older 2e FR module written by Aaron Allston that was placed on the Korynn Isles. (NW of Rhuathym, N of the Moonshae Isles, if I am not mistaken.) Although I never actually played FR longer than one or two sessions, this module has formed an important part of my D&D collection ever since I bought it; I used it in several other campaigns, including my homebrew world and my current The Rings of Brass campaign. I am also thinking of using it as an introduction to some possible Greyhawk campaign on the Lendore Isles. Now, to come to the point, my problem is that I own the German version of that module, which doesn’t give the real name, or indicate if it is part of a larger series. Can anyone help me to find out what was the name and if it had some sequels? – As I said, I am normally not interested in FR modules, but I’d surely check out these ones. Here some information about the module that may help you: German title: Die Schatzjad Author: Aaron Allston Copyright: 1986,1998 in Germany Location: Korynn Isles; Viledel, the isle of the sea king Level: O (Really!) Plot: The characters shipwreck on the cursed island, that is about to be destroyed by the wrath of a goddess after some goblin pirates have dared to desacrate their temple. In order to escaping the impending destruction, the characters must find a forgotten ship down in the tomb of the sea king. Does that sound familiar to anyone? I would really like to know if there were some kind of sequels that I could use IMC. Thank you Rafael |

| rob403-18-05, 10:37 AM | It's actually 1e, not 2e. |
| Ivid03-18-05, 12:47 PM | Thank you! Had been wondering for a while! :) But was there really no other stuff for the Korynn Isles? - Maybe a remark or side quest in another book? |
| Dargoth03-18-05, 06:05 PM | N4 Treasure Hunt. No sequels. Not quite true Im pretty sure Under Ilefarn mentions a link to Treasure Hunt |
| Ivid03-18-05, 08:00 PM | And which is this Under Ilefarn? *N5, I suppose* :) |
| Dargoth03-18-05, 09:40 PM | And which is this Under Ilefarn? *N5, I suppose* :) It is indeed N5 http://store.yahoo.com/svgames-store/tsr9212esd.html |
| Ivid03-19-05, 07:03 AM | Ah... then I suppose that the N series were just a group of stand - alone adventures that were supposed to give players the opportunity to adventure in different corners of the Faerun area... Right? BTW, is the Moonshea book worth the buy if you liked the Korynn theme? - I mean, it's very unprobrable that I would ever play, but as I said, Threasure hunt is something like my *favourite adventure*... :) |
| Faraer03-20-05, 12:57 PM | The N-series modules (N standing for 'novice') are five assorted low-level modules -- see here (http://www.acaeum.com/DDIndexes/ModPages/N.html). N1 Against the Cult of the Reptile God is set in the World of Greyhawk. N3 isn't set in an established world but has a Realms connection in that Steven Schend used it as the start of his original Erlkazar campaign (see Lands of Intrigue). N4 and N5 are set in the Realms, the former only loosely; N5 may have a few sentences on how to carry on from N4, but that's the extent of their linkage. |
| Ivid03-20-05, 02:46 PM | :tiphat: Thank you for the info! Although I don't think that I'll ever come to collect all that adventures, I think(and you know from the Greyhawk boards that I am not a particular fan of FR) about doing some short campaign with the Moonshae/Korynn isles in the future... (The far future, but it's decided.) :) Thank you all again! |
| Faraer03-20-05, 03:26 PM | OK, from N5:If you have a character who reached 1st level in N4, Treasure Hunt, your adventure took place in the sea to the west of Daggerford. After that adventure, your character decided to see the world and ended up in Waterdeep, the main trade city to the north. You soon found the big city was a bit much for a simple islander, so you gravitated to the smaller town of Daggerford, finding out only after you settled into a squalid room at the Lady Luck Tavern (or a sumptuous suite at the River Shining Tavern if you've kept most of your loot from the treasure hunt) that residence in Daggerford means enlistment in . . . but we'll get to that in a bit.(and you know from the Greyhawk boards that I am not a particular fan of FR)But I don't know why you keeping saying so. |
| Ivid03-21-05, 03:51 AM | Thank you for posting the quote here. That makes it even easier for me to understand that, really, N4 had no *real* sequel. (Quite a shame, AFAIC.) I just claim to be *no particular fan of FR* to emphazise that I don't know far too much about the setting, and although an experienced RPG player, never considered using the setting until now... ;) I am that kind of guy who asks things like *Who is Elminster?* and seeks Waterdeep in Zakhara... :D But if I can get my greedy little hands on the Moonshae module, one will see... :) |
| Ty03-21-05, 08:18 AM | There was one adventure I recall set in the Moonshaes. Halls of the High King or something along those lines. TSR also put out a sourcebook on the Moonshaes as well under the Forgotten Realms header. Keep in mind that the Moonshaes were not part of Ed Greenwood's original world but were added in for other product tie-in purposes. I personally think that's why there are a few inconsistencies that arise here and there with respect to the Moonshaes. In other words, you're probably safe pulling the Moonshaes out of Faerun since they weren't technically there at the start. |
| Ivid03-21-05, 12:09 PM | Island realms are always very easy to DM, because normally, they form a microcosm for themselves; no to transport them from one setting to another, especially to any old/d20setting, seems a bit difficult to me. :thinks: But maybe it's just time for my first FR campaign as DM... Although I then wouldn't use far too much from the *official* materials, but patch the setting together... :plotting: Maybe I would alter the distance between the Moonshaes and Faerun, to make sure my players never reach the continent... But that will be in the far future, after my current and a bunch of Greyhawk campaigns... :D Thank you! |
| Iakhovas03-21-05, 07:31 PM | Just to be nit picky, the island chain described in N4 is called the Korinn Archipelago. To my knowledge it was the only Zero level adventure released by TSR. You characters got to decide as they progressed through the module which class they would ultimately take upon reaching level one. Quite a fun module as I recall. |

Although not set in one of my usual campaign settings, one of my favourite adventures of all time... :) |
| Brom Greenstar03-22-05, 07:14 AM | Under Illefarn has a 0 lvl adventure too |
| Ivid03-23-05, 04:59 AM | lvl 0 adventures were really something I'd could use en masse... |
