| SenōrDoom06-15-05, 09:34 PM | Okay, so I bought Lost Empires. Particulary interesting is the surviving city of Selūnarra, a second city that fled to another plane (see LEoF pages 109 and 111). My question is, has anyone here with lots of lore on Faerūn and years of Realms experience more on this? Is there any indication that the events described in the adventure "Waxing of the moon" (Selūnarra returns to Faerūn and makes war on City of Shade) will happen in canon, I mean will be introduced into the official timeline? As part of the eternal Struggle between Selūne and Shar? |

| Pystian06-15-05, 09:44 PM | I don't know much about it, but I'll share what I do know. It's in the old Netheril boxed set under it's alternate name, Opus. Basically a mentalist named Chever created it and it was a more enlightened floating city. It had libraries, colleges, theatres, etc. instead of only academies for Wizards and gladitorial arenas. I recommend checking out the old boxed set if you're really interested in learning about the Netherese history. Happy hunting. Edit: And Kuje beat me to it... of course. |
| SenōrDoom06-15-05, 09:50 PM | Thanks. I'll check it out. I've downloaded and looked at it but I must've missed this. |
| The Simbul06-16-05, 01:21 AM | Chever went insane from over-using his divination spells and jumped into a Sphere of Annihilation long before the fall or perhaps even long before the Shadowed age. Lady Arilain was the Archwizard of Opus/Selūnarra during the Shadowed age, and she used divinations to learn what Karsus was up to and confronted him, and was not heard from again (I was personally hoping that she was going to be one of the netherese NPC's in Lost Empires, perhaps having been imprisoned by some spell or something). The Netheril boxed set says that the common rumors are either her collegauses foresaw the effects of Karsus spell and lifeted the Enclave from Faerun, or that Selune personally delivered them from destruction. I favor a combination of both to be honest. |
| ClobberinTime06-16-05, 01:51 PM | I love this plot hook, Karsus probably carved up Lady Arilyn in a heartbeat. |
| Monsoon2806-16-05, 03:21 PM | I always thought that Lady Arilyn went into hiding after that and that she was somehow responsible for saving Opus/Selūnarra. |
