| Brenigin01-14-04, 07:02 PM | Well, the cover is up here (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/fracc/965660000) , so what do we know/think/want with regards to Serpent Kingdoms? A little tidbit from this month's In the Works might give a hint: "NPC eyes of Horus-Re can be found wherever the minions of Set or undead creatures walk the land, and some are showing increasing interest in the activities of the yuan-ti in Hlondeth." Add in the Yuan-ti-centric novel trilogy approaching, and the Serpents of Set presented in a recent Dragon issue, and I think we'll find that the Yuan-Ti and the followers of Set/Sseth are going to be to 2004 what the Drow and the Shades were to the last couple of year's - the signature threat of the year! Or I could be speculating too much... :smirk: Year of the Serpents anyone? |
| Brenigin01-19-04, 02:40 AM | <bump> Oh, sorry, obviously everyone is still enjoying the Year of the Drow:smirk: Do we think that Tiamat and things Draconic will come into this book much? Will Thay's Citadel be included? Grandfather Tree and the Hall of Mists? |
| Tempus66501-19-04, 05:21 AM | I was hoping that this would be another region sourcebook, describing the southern jungle lands, but obviously, itīs something else :( Anyway, since Ed himself worked on it, itīs bound to be a good book. I hope itīs a little bit more background than numbers. |
| Dargoth01-19-04, 06:08 AM | I have to say Im abit disappointed From what limited info we have Serpent Kingdoms sounds like a Colage of stuff that either has appeared or should have appeared in previous products. Yuan Ti and Lizardfolk for example have already been detailed as PC races in Races of Faerun. If the purpose if SK is to introduce the Yuan Ti as a bunch of bad ass, then wouldnt it have been better to give them a write up in Lords of Darkness? Serpentkind to me seem to be a limited field, personally Id have prefered a 2nd Regional supplement (Where aparentl only getting one this year) then a 2nd "generalist" book |
| Jeremy75701-19-04, 10:40 PM | I run a campaign in the Vilhon Reach so if they provide good infromation about Yuan-ti, lizardfolk, naga, Hlondeth, Morningstar Hollow, and the Nagaflow region I would definitely buy the book. |
| ChrisBradford01-25-04, 01:58 AM | It's only 190 pages long? That's a rather short book. I think they could have found stuff to add in another 60 pages, easily. I kinda wonder if there's any clue on the plot for "Venom's Taste"? It comes out in a month, after all. |
