Tell me some good things about the book Serpent Kingdoms.

1. Its written by Ed in part so it comes straight from the horse's mouth so to speak. I don't like his fiction, but I love his game supplements.

2. It gives you great detail on Yuan-Ti and Nagas

3. It gives you the Sarrukh, a creator race long thought extinct but only in hiding. Nasty fellows

4. The "realms" section details hidden and not so hidden kingdoms of the serpent races. They are located throughout Faerun, so it could be used in many campaigns.

Probably THE most broken rules... EVA!

In all honesty, it was the LAST FR product I purchased. :nonono:

But you wanted to hear GOOD things, right? Ummm... it was made back when the books were still 190 pages...

It has snakes and snake-magic, yuan-ti, some news about lizards, nagas, sarrukh and yuan-ti, lots of descriptions for areas all over Faerūn, yuan-ti, PrCs for snakes and men, new monsters and yuan-ti. :)

You almost forgot to tell him about the Yun-ti! ;)

I especially enjoyed the section dealing with the history of Faerun's scalykind. It's great reading, seeing how the sarrukh came into being amidst the other creator races.

I don't use them meself but perhaps others would like it. I thought my number #4 was the best feature along with nagas. I like Nagas:D

I would have to agree then.

The history is interesting, although definately scaleo-centric, and the Nagas and other reptilian/serpent races are nicely covered.

Did we mention the Yun-ti? ;)

Well, before your preconcieved notions got you thinking I'm running an FR game (I'm not), I'm running an Atlantis game. And I'd like to use Serpent Kingdoms as inspiration for Lemuria. Lemuria went from wierdo humans with Mad Science tech to a land "infested" with Yaun-ti.

ya tricked us!

Actually, some of you tricked yourselves. You never ever asked why. I figured that this group knows Serpent Kingdoms better than I did so I thought I'd ask you to sell it to me.

You're doing it very well, with the assumption that I was running an FR game.

Funny we're talking about Serpent Kingdoms!

Although I loved reading the new Realmslore within this wonderful tome, I am finally putting all this into practice in my next game session (no more details, as some of my most crafty players monitor these boards... )

Their party is now exploring Eastern Chult... (hint, hint...) :D

Lemuria for my players is a way off. :) Atlantis first, then Lemuria. As for your players, if I were the DM, I'd have Spot (as in T-Rex) play with them. I want to see the fear in their eyes until they see the Tyrannosaurus Rex give them a branch to toss. :)

After that, they run into a lizard man gang. Build them up gradual like until the plot, with yaun-ti overfiends behind it, is thrown their way. :)
