| Yaeri03-17-06, 06:39 PM | 1) I've been reading bits and pieces of the retreat having ended, and the elves taking back Myth drannor. What exactly is this about? Does this information come from an FR supplement. If so, which one? Or from a novel? If it's from a novel you need not say more. :weep: 2) On that novel thingie, my apologies if I break any rules by asking this. (I'm really not sure whether I am or not.) I'm curious as to why the ban on novel discussions was put in place. I don't want to discuss the why or complain about it. A link to any old thread which answers that question will suffice. 3) I'm pretty sure the latest events with Lolth were from novels (sorry), but I've noticed part of it has been put into the player's guide to faerun. Now I was wondering if there have been updates to this (in supplements, not in novels) since the player's guide to faerun. The same goes for the year of rogue dragons. Has anything about it been put into an FR supplement since then? If so, which one? 4) After searching for an old thread about the year of rogue dragons (I never found it) I noticed I was already on page 26 or so of the boards and there was already discussion then about a supplement that has just been released this month. So that made me wonder if some people here perhaps knew about faerun material that's still going to be released but I haven't heard anything about yet. |

From what I can tell, there is a bit about it in Power of Faerun, recently on store shelves. Those who have the book can tell you more. Eric Boyd has stated there is a spoiler in Power of Faerun for the third book of The Last Mythal because of the different publishing times. 2) On that novel thingie, my apologies if I break any rules by asking this. A link to any old thread which answers that question will suffice. The rules are listed in a sticky somewhere, but in short, critical novel discussions are banned because people basically hounded the authors and their works to no end. You can still discuss events and characters in the novels that pertains to the setting, like supplement style information or game mechanics. "When and where did X happen?" "What are Y's stats?" 3) I'm pretty sure the latest events with Lolth were from novels (sorry), but I've noticed part of it has been put into the player's guide to faerun. I know there were several Dragon magazine articles on the topic, character stats and the like. The Year of Rogue Dragons will likely be covered in the upcoming Dragons of Faerun. 4) After searching for an old thread about the year of rogue dragons (I never found it) I noticed I was already on page 26 or so of the boards and there was already discussion then about a supplement that has just been released this month. Sometimes observant members of the boards notice releases on the official D&D site, through Amazon.com, or even the site of the cover artist (in the case of Mysteries of the Moonsea). This information is sometimes supplemented by information from the authors, if they aren't under the pressure of NDAs to keep quiet. |

As for the elves and Myth Drannor... I would suggest you pick up Rich's "Last Mythal" trilogy for more. 3) I'm pretty sure the latest events with Lolth were from novels (sorry), but I've noticed part of it has been put into the player's guide to faerun. If so, which one?Nothing specific on the events surrounding the concluding periods of the WotSQ published in sourcebooks as yet -- though there have been the odd few tidbit references in sourcebooks since the publishing of PGtF. The same goes for the events of the Year of Rogue Dragons... which will likely receive a major update in the Dragons of Faerun tome still to be released. 4) After searching for an old thread about the year of rogue dragons (I never found it) I noticed I was already on page 26 or so of the boards and there was already discussion then about a supplement that has just been released this month. Is this the book you are referring to? |
