| Megrim_Lord01-08-05, 09:38 PM | Alright, here's the situation. I'm continuing to flesh out my campaign, and I've just hit the part where I plan on giving my PCs a whole lot of different options on where to go and what to do via tavern/local waterdhavian rumors. However, I am completely blocked and I've run out of ideas. I was wondering if anyone could help me out by providing a few example rumors or ideas to help get my creative juices flowing. rumors can concern any region or area in Faerun, even the Underdark, but should be steering them towards a challenge or environment suited for parties in the lvl 6 - 11 range. At this point in the campaign, the PCs would have already combatted lizardfolk, Shadow Thieves, and participated in various diplomatic and stealth based activities, so if you have any really unique ideas for what they could end up doing, I'd love to hear it. Any and all help is appreciated Thanks |

| Xavier_of_Cormyr01-12-05, 06:00 AM | sounds like you & your PCs could use an old fashioned treasure hunting adventure! Pick a "dungeon", flesh it out, play out travelling to & from the dungeon (at levels 6-11, magical travel is limited). May I suggest the Silver Marches area. A lot going on in that region for the PCs to get mixed up in if they're not careful... or just plain nosey. |
| Torak Stoneweaver01-12-05, 11:20 AM | I currently have a group of characters (7-8th lvl) toiling around in the northern portion of the High Forest... tracking a cult of slavers that worship SET. I put in a couple of side treks for them but now they are on there way to a northern outpost of the the cult, The Serpent's Hold, a keep set in the frigid north... where they will be directed to the far south into the arid lands that SET calls his domain! fun fun fun |
| Megrim_Lord01-12-05, 05:58 PM | thanks for the ideas, the old gears are winding and I'm churning out usable material as we speak. so far I'm working up a random d% table full of rumors that could have them heading to Sembia, Cormyr, as far east as Luiren, Thay, or even to the borders of Kara Tur, or south to Chult, Calimshan, Lantan etc. |
| Petrankov01-13-05, 08:45 AM | My campaign is still in the year 1361. If I were running currently though I think a pretty interesting adventure hook is the Red Wizards expansion as merchants of magical items throughout the Realms. There has to be something sinister going on there. They tried to take over the world through people's dreams, this is not benign trading activity. |
| Bliol01-13-05, 12:04 PM | Well, one of the buest quests I led was one in Battledale, the party were members of merc. squad that defended one of the towns there and ended up in Underdark after a drow attack.(don't actually know if there is anything happening there now, I'm a bit... a lot out of touch with the current events) I suggest you take them to Cormyr, that seems like the place with the most activity now. |
