Hello, I'm about to run this adventure and I could use some help with the Ritual Cavern encounter (page 26). It says that the encounter takes place in a dead magic zone. Aren't magic items nonfunctional in a dead magic zone? Do the bad guys still have their gear? It's not mentioned whether these are shadow weave magic items or not. How are the PCs supposed to survive against Esvele blasting the PCs with destruction spells (no spell or magic item to increase saves)? Has anyone lived through this encounter? Assuming the bad guys have shadow weave magic items, how much are these worth on the marketplace? I would assume nothing considering these are cursed items for most peoples. Any thoughts on this?
