I have a player who is grappling expert, and who has competed in the Shieldmeet of 1352. He wishes to compete in the next few Shieldmeets to test his wrestling skill against the lands best athletes.

Now it states that in 1372, shieldmeet takes place in Battledale in the Forgotten Realms campaign book. Shieldmeet in my campaign occurs and is celebrated everywhere by local lords but is also officially held in one location as a sort of forgotten realms olympic games, where the best tend to gather.

So my question is during Dale Reckoning 1356,1360,1364,1368 where should Shieldmeet be held? Is there any canon, that can back this up?

There isn't a single Faerūnwide site of Shieldmeet:in the Dales it's always Battledale, elsewhere there are different traditions.

I'd suggest makeing this more like a traveling gladiator type thing.

Travel to Hillsfar, Westgate, Luskan, Waterdeeps underground (skullport) Even as far as Thay.
Place that do have Arenas for gladiator matches or likely to have fighting matches for people to bet on.

Thats a good suggestion Alac, I didnt know Luskan had an arena though. Imagine the realms olympics in a place like Zhentil Keep. Hey they eventually have to get their turn too!

Luskan dosn't really have an oganized gladiator arena.
But they do have an area that can be used for such things.
I'm trying to look at a map of Luscan, but can't really find this area. (it is on a .pdf, and I'm trying to look at it sideways)

I included Luskan based on what happens in on of the Novels.
There was public executions of pirates in an "arena like" area.

An area like this could work for hosting "sporting events" from time to time.
