Lord Shurrupak is from Unther and is the former Chosen of Gilgeam. He went insane after Gilgeam was killed and frequently goes on rampages killing all who he considers enemies of the dead god. Check out the Epic Level Handbook for more info on him

Well, he's an Epic Level character.

But he's no longer a chosen. Tiamat is interested in gaining his services though.

Shurrupak "The Reaper of Unther"

He was Gilgeams Chosen, his powers in 2e were permanent gifts, I know he had a Magic Resistance of 50%, and could produce about five Mirror Images of himself at a time, most of his natural ability scores were in the low twenties, these natural abilities themself made him a walking semi-god king in the south...

Shurrupak was an insane monster before his diety got knocked off after the ToT, in one instance he was sent to a major city in Unther to put down a riot from the starving population, he succeded by dragging people out of their homes and executing them in the street until everybody shut up about the mass starvation of the city...

Shurrupak was a 20th level fighter / 7th level southern mage in the 2e days southern mage/priest = had access to the secret-script awesome southern "mulhorandi" spells, every PC wizard or priest in the 2e days would have betrayed their party to get to use some of these spells, me favorites are the Javelin, Devastate, Death Bolt, Magic Resistance, and all the Curse/Bane spells...

Shurrupak may also have access to some of the unique southern magical items like the Ring of Thunder, Chariot of Ra, Font of Time, Staff of Fury, Witchweed, and Jewel of Kxxxxxxx forgot it's name "it makes an exact duplicate of yourself magic items and all, including any artifacts carried for 48 hours, now that is an awesome item...

Shurrupak is one of the greatest fighters of the realm, but he may not be the best fighter in the south, I would give that honor to Hamesetis, Chosen and Strongarm of Set, member of the Fangs of Set Adventuring party, and former Thayian gladiator slave, who had never lost a match, even the Red Wizards who owned him grew to fear him and actually magically crippled him and threw him back into the Gladiator pits, even then he always managed to find a way to defeat any monster they threw at him, even unarmed he still triumped and never has been defeated buy anyone or anything to date "there was a rumor that he once beat the hell out of a Dracolich with a stick".

Hamesetis was purchased from his red wizard master by Set, secretly of course, then he restored Hamesetis body back to normal "the red wizo's really hated this dude, so they magically and permanently crippled him", of course the God-King Set had no problem putting him back together, and has since given him many magical gifts and skills...

Hamesetis was at least a 24th level fighter/gladiator in the 2e days, actually he was probalbly a living Dark Sun style gladiator walking the realms, this dude knows no fear and will always find a way to defeat anything in mortal combat you throw at him, since the ToT he has been givin gifts by Set, one of which is several free levels in the assassin class, which he hates, he is an honorable fighter, but he will not hesitate too kill you very quickly if you stand in his way...

See the Old Empires accessory for all the npc's, spells, items, and the god-kings that the people of this region had to deal with on a normal day, the ToT actually reduced the power of the gods that stalked this region, Ao put all the god-king incarnations in a coma, and reduced the manifestation to weak incarnations, had to keep them from conquering Toril...

Be sure to send your wizard, sorceror, or bard on an all expensens paid vacation trip to the lovely coastal city of Lutcheq, their Bard-B-Que's are legendary...

P.S. the southern lands have many very powerful and relatively unknown npc's, the adventuring group the Fangs of Set alone have a half dozen of the realms deadliest npc's as it's members, there wizard's number one dream is to slay every realms god, including Set, and he is the type of meglomaniac master of power that could probalbly find a way. This is one of the few places in the realms in the 2e days that had many unique monsters running around like a +4000 year old great wyrm blue dragon with wizard18/priest10 class abilities and his own active temple/lair, this dragon was so old he had to eat ion stones to sustain himself, and he worshipped a draconic god of magic, of course when your living in a place where mortal gods roam the streets nothing seems abnormal to these people.

Actually, for his history and level; he is quite 'bland' in a cool sort of way.
