I am running a campaign set in the Silver Marches and love it. The sourcebook is outstanding and my players are really getting into it.

But when I look on the D&D site to find art and maps from the book for handouts ... I find nothing. No Gerrin, Harbromm, Turlang, Vaerilmor, the High Lady Alustriel, that great picture of the Moonbridge or map of Silverymoon itself.

Will these pictures and maps ever be available on this site, or do I have to go the route of scanning them?

How about some loving for lords and ladies that make their home in the Silver Marches?

I'm thinking you may need to scan them

This has been covered recently in threads here and at CK, for some reason the Maps and other illustrations from SM are not available anywhere online. Damn shame, since they show many things missing from the campaign map (like Hartsvale).

I could have made a lot of nice forum avatars out of the art from that book if the art was up in the Art Gallery....

Hartsvale appeared on the map in the Silver Marches accessory. And was also marked on maps in Giantcraft.

Hartsvale appeared on the map in the Silver Marches accessory. And was also marked on maps in Giantcraft. But my point was that without that map you wouldn't know it existed from other realms maps.

I don't really count the map in Giantcraft, because its just of Hartsvale, not the surrounding area, so you could have placed it wherever you like, despite the description in the sourcebook.

We've had this convo before sage, I believe your the one who pointed out Hartsvale on the SM maps to me. I'm glad they included it there, because I thought for awhile 3e was going to just 'forget about it', like so much else.

Either way, it is strange that for some reason they didn't bother posting any of the artwork from that source.

Still waiting for a reply from Dark Wizard.

In the mean-time, I am working on a SM map, two sizes, which I will post at deviantart along with my Evermeet map. I have NO interest in the area (other then the Orcs), but I am tired of seeing at least one thread a week asking where the maps are!

Should be done by the end of the weekend for anyone interested.

As promised: Silver Marches Map (http://markustay.deviantart.com/gallery/)

Just finished this - As far as I know, I don't think I'm doing anything wrong because the original version of this map is available here for FREE. I modified the world map by adding TONS of stuff form TWO accessories, and cut-it down for use with the Silver Marches book. It also contains about 90% of the stuff from The North accessory as well, because i'm covering a much larger area then the map that came with the product. Also, there are numerous corrections, because some of the roads, towns, and forests were slightly different in earlier versions of this region. The smaller version prints out perfectly on a normal size piece of printer paper and is still very ledgible.

That is why the locales look so crowded together; it may not be beautiful, but it is a compromise between usefulness and area covered. So Enjoy - Mark

Very nice work!:ayyyy!:

You wouldn't know where to find something like that for the Dales or Cormyr would you?

I found THIS ONE (http://www.randomdialogue.net/gaming/cormyr/cormyr.jpg) for Cormyr, but it doesn't look like such a great image.

found The Dalelands (http://www3.sympatico.ca/robert402/dale/images/dalelands.jpg) on a different site, also a poor copy.

I think the first one is from the interactive atlas, and the second one is just a scan from an accessory. I'm not sure if that second one is legal, since Wizards never allowed it as a download AFAIK.

There are also some truly beautiful maps over in the Candlekeep map room (http://www.candlekeep.com/library/maps.htm#TorilMaps), both of the Dalelands AND Cormyr, not to mention some other VERY well made maps of the realms.

They aren't as cool as yours, but they are handy for online referance away from my books, thanks!

Cormyr one does look like the FRIA, but it looks altered to me... just isn't quite right for some reason.

Very nice job with the maps by the way Markus, saves me quite a bit of trouble really.

Neat map!

I just fired up a Silver Marches campaign over the weekend (I've got to agree, it's an excellent sourcebook), I might have to toss an email of that map to a few of my players (with your permission) to help 'em out a little.

Thank you.

It's basically just the World map shrunk down and 'cut', with all the locales from two sourcebooks added, plus minor corrections and I added a little to the top.

No big, go ahead and E-mail it to everyone, thats what I made it for. :D

So you've used an 'official' map? Hmmm. I was going to suggest that contact Alaundo at Candlekeep.

'Tis likely he could have stored a copy of your 'Silver Marches' map in the Candlekeep Map Room (http://www.candlekeep.com/library/maps.htm). Though, since you've used official material, I doubt the copyright would allow that.

I did that one in a hurry, because so many folks were requesting one. Normally I do them from scratch, like my Evermeet map which is located at that same web address. I offered that map (the Evermeet one) in the "Looking for Realmslore" thread at CK. You guys are more then welcome to it, the idea is for them all to get used. I also made sure I used the one they were already hosting here for my SM map, rather then scanning one in that I didn't have permission for. I figure since they were giving it away I could to, so to speak.

When I get done with each part of the HUGE world map you guys can host that as well. Lining them up was a bear, until I 'tilted' Faerun back the way it's supposed to be. :D

I'll talk to Alaundo and see what we can do.

The Silverymoon map is online at Wizards.com, accompanying the "My Slice of Silverymoon" (http://www.wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/fx20020821x) (in effect) web enhancement (my favourite part of the book, which isn't in it).

I have the book, but some folks might not have access to it's maps. That will go well with my map to help DM's who need them for handouts.

Also, if Wizards ever decides to put the stuf from SM on their site (the art and regional map), I will gladly take down my copy. I only did it because one wasn't forthcoming AFAIK, I personally don't have a whole lot of interest in the area ATM.

I'll talk to Alaundo and see what we can do.Thanks, anything to help spread FR to the masses is a good thing. :D
