Thrask the Gnoll 07-16-03, 11:54 PM	Does this mage's guild actually exist in canon? Silver Marches makes absolutely no mention of the place. Or was it just a theoretical example used in Magic of Faerun? Any prior proof of it's existance?

Thrask the Gnoll 07-18-03, 12:56 AM	I'd like to think it is canon, yes. It's complete lack of existance in Silver Marches seems like a major inconsistancy, though.
Herr Doktor 07-18-03, 01:11 AM	Isn't The Lady's College pretty much the Arcane Guild of Silverymoon? It is a college of wizards, after all and the college benefits sidebar describes something like what is typical of a mage guild.
Thrask the Gnoll 07-18-03, 12:55 PM	Nope. The Arcane Guild was the example of a wizard's guild. Membership is restrictwed to mages of 5th level and has 1000gp yearly dues. It even mentions Elminster staying there when he's in Silverymoon. The Lady's College is an actual school.
