Valgard 06-04-04, 07:49 AM	One of the most impressive things that has happened recently is how Complete Divine is looked by Forgotten Realms "users". I always thought that these books (not only the "Complete" ones, but all other supplement and corebooks labeled only with "Dungeons & Dragons" not mentioning specific roleplaying worlds) were used to give additional rules to ALL roleplaying worlds, in particular the Realms. So, why isn't 70% Complete Divine material usable in other worlds other than Greyhawk? I think one of the most important aspects is that the main differences between roleplaying worlds are the deities themselves, so some prestige classes such as "The Radiant Servant of Pelor" or "The Shining Blade of Heironeous" are only usable in Greyhawk, but that's not the real problem. I think the real problem seems to be that the authors of different specific type of books (and roleplaying worlds) don't speak themselves. I say this because I've found one thing that I don't understand. I don't know how old is the FRCS but there where explained the deities of the Realms and the new domains. So why then it is the Mentalism domain (FR) and the Mind domain (CD)? It seems to be a similar idea from two different people and then worked on them with any mention from one to another. In Complete Divine there is a revision of the Stormlord prestige class. There mentions that you must have Talos as a patron deity if your world has him in its pantheon. But then in the book, there is no storm domain, and any of the domains of the Realms!! So I ask the authors... Why then these domains are not included in other Roleplaying worlds? Why are not them included in non-specific world supplement sourcebooks? I don't think the Spider, Storm, or Craft domains (for example) should be particular to the Realms. A domain that grants you electricity resistance and some spells that are related to shocks and lightnings are not exclusive to Faerūn. I have a proposal. I now it's not going to be made because it will change many things in all roleplaying worlds, but I'll say it anyway. Why don't make a new Complete Divine Web Enhancement with new domains (ALL domains from ALL sources not related to something specifically to an exact deity of an exact world) and a list of the deities and the new domains, for example, Hextor could have the FR domain Tyranny or Nerull could have darkness. A list of other deities (for me, I think the FR deities are the most important because I play the realms, but I think the most important deities from any roleplaying world should be there) Including, for example, the new domains presented in Complete Divine. Thanks for reading this. I'd like to have some answers from people identified with this, even the authors.
Autosponge 06-04-04, 09:40 AM	There is already a deity translation in the FRCS, first chapter pg9. That pretty much makes anything with Greyhawk deities compatable with FR. FineasBoggs 06-04-04, 10:19 AM	It happens all the time with the books. One author thinks up a feat that has already been done and then calls it something else. I think two words can sum it up nicely: Poor Editing.
