03-25-06, 10:25 AM In Faerun, some people have the ability to use special abilities that are not considered spells or psionic powers. Its just something that the person is born with or suddenly awaken. One big example is Spellfire. Now i know that are some other ability that are less prominent such as e.g. cure light wounds, larloch minor drain.

Heres the question, would a dead magic zone prevent them from using their special powers? And are the special powers awaken be considered part of the weave and thus under mystra?

03-25-06, 03:47 PM If the powers are in fact, magical, they work via the Weave and would be prevented in a magic-dead area. If they're 'natural', or have some other specified source of power, they would work in that area.

Supernatural (SU) and spell like (SP) abilities are dormant in a Dead Magic Zone.

Extraordinary (EX) abilities funtion normaly.
