I have a question about spellfire, my gamming group was discussing long and hard and still came up with no answer. Does spellfire effect golems?

Yes it does.

Golems are only immune to magical effects to which Spell Resistance applies. And since SR doesn't help against spellfire, the golem is in trouble.

However, when blasting golems with spellfire be sure to keep your tounge straight, as half the damage is to be considered fire-damage. And magical fire has healing properties against some forms of golems, most I think.

Magical Fire heals Iron Golems, IIRC.

Yeah, for each 3 points of damage dealt to an Iron Golem it's healed 1 point in stead.

So what appears to be correct is that if an Iron Golem gets hit by spellfire for a total of 18 points of damage, 9 of which will be fire-related, it takes 6 points of damage. 9 points from the pure magical energy of the attack, but is healed for 3 points by the fire-energy in the attack.
