Spider Queen Cover Art? [Archive] - Wizards Community

08-03-05, 07:53 PM Does anyone know which characters are depicted on the six covers of the War of the Spider Queen novels?

Dissolution: Pharaun
Insurrection: Quenthel and Jeggred
Condemnation: Nimor
Extinction: Halisstra
Annihilation: Ryld
Resurrection: Danifae

My reasoning for this is that on the inside front cover, where the "preview" starts, the first words printed are a character name, with the exception of Dissolution where Pharaun's name appears in the first sentence.

I have to argue on Insurection Cover. It looks to me more like Triel and Jeggred then anything. Mainly because Triel is more beauty while Quenthel isn't. Triel is small, even by drow size, while Quenthel is not.

I don't think Nimor is Condemnation cover, I've always thought it was Quentehl leading males.

But I could be wrong.

If Triel is small, even by drow standards, then that's definitely not her. Jeggred is over seven feet tall; the average height of a draegloth is 7 1/2 - 8 feet. Being even shoulder high to him, like that drow is, implies a very tall drow.

Considering the normal attire of drow females, and their tendency to accentuate their physical traits, I still think it's Nimor. Quenthel wouldn't stoop to looking less than her "best", especially if it carried the chance, however slim, of being mistaken for someone below her station.

I basically went with the K.I.S.S. approach to figuring out who each one was. They give names inside each cover, it makes sense to me that it's the name of the character on the cover.

Meh. It's not how I see any of them though so I really don't pay attention and just pretened they are other drow. :)
