Hi, i live in Brazil and its hard for me to find and read the 6 novel books telling the "war of the spider queen". I have some doubts about it, could you answer me please? What was "lolth's silence" and how it changed the goddess and the drow society? In what lolth "evolved"? And for my last question: What were the major changings in the drow society after the ending of her silence?(if there were any at all)
Thx ppl.

What was "lolth's silence" and how it changed the goddess and the drow society?

-Lolth stopped answering her priests and priestess'. She went into a sort of hibernation, to consolidate and concentrate her power.

In what lolth "evolved"?

-She moved her realm in the Abyss to it's own Plane. She is also a more powerful deity now- She's probably a Intermediate or Greater Deity now.

And for my last question: What were the major changings in the drow society after the ending of her silence?(if there were any at all)

-Well, society is pretty much where it was before the Silence. There has been a lot of other changes, though. Menzoberranzan got pretty trashed, as there was a civil war there. The city of Ched Nesad is also completely demolished.

Sweet Lord Karsus, she was an Intermediate Deity all along ;), heavily knocking on the door to becoming a Greater Deity - which, as it seems, she has achieved at last.

As has been said, the drow who followed Lolth have suffered, some cities been destroyed or taken over by others (e.g. Maerimydra, Ched Nasad). Menzoberranzan suffered an uprising by slaves, a defeat at the hands of a combined army of tanarukka, duergar, and House Dyrr traitors - yet got their act together once the enemy approached the city more directly. At that time, Lolth returned too and the tide turned. These days, one would assume that the drow are licking their wounds and looking for a bit of revenge on all who harmed them ...

-Hmm...Good point. Well, that's what I meant. She's been "bumped up" a notch.

So we will see the drow recovering their cities in this new trilogy which began w/ "sacrifice of the widow"? It will be some sort of "strike back"? By the way, most of vhaerun drows live in Cormanthor, elves are leaving evermeet to go to Cormanthor. Surely the surface elves will win, so what will happen to vhaerun drows? Vhaerun(himself) will suffer a pretty hard loss.
Are there any novel or supplement books which tell us about this big fight?
Thx again!!!

See this thread

There's a lot of spoilers about the "Sacrifice of the Widow".

By the way: it's good to see some Brazilians around here, since I'm from Brazil. :)

The Player's Guide to Faerūn states that Lolth fell silent in 1372 (Elesias 28), but I don't know when she was back.

Sorry, but the thread didnt give me any insight if this new trilogy (the lady penitent) will be some sort of "strike back" now that Lolth is a greater goddess. And no1 answered about the big fight i mentioned (A LOT of the surface elves from evermeet against vhaerun's drows in cormanthor), i think it will weaken Vhaerun a lot (his end or at least he'll be near his ending???)
:D :D

Actually, the Vhaerunites have been approaching surface elves as allies. They don't like the worshippers of Lolth or Elistraae, but they have NO problem with the worshippers of the Seldarine. In fact, it has been stated that Clan Auzkovyn freely intermix with Elves and half-Elves (FRCS, pg.125), and even interbreed with them. Vhaerun wants his worshippers to return to the surface, its the other Drow goddesses that he hates.

Clan Jaelre might fight with the surface Elves, because they have been taking over the Ruins in Cormanthor. However, if they are smart, they will work WITH the surface Elves to restore Cormanthyr to its former glory, guaranteeing Vhaerun a place in Elven society.

Well... but Vhaerun is a chaotic EVIL god, i think it'll be HARD to ally w/ the surface elves... i was hoping "realm of the elves" novel book would give me some hints about this fight. I think i'll buy it and see if there are anything about it. But, i'd appreciate some spoilers if any1 know of anything. (as i said, its a little hard to get these books here where i live) ;)
