| Manwe05-27-04, 05:32 PM | I am asking myself where would be a good start for a campaign. Help is very appreciated. thanks for the coming answers:) |
| Damien_Hiro05-27-04, 05:51 PM | I have started campaigns in Deadsnows(The North), Ashabenford(Dalelands), Beregost(Western Heartlands), Tammar and Phsant(Unnapproachable East), and Skuld(Old Empires). It depends on what type of campaign you want to run. The North is great for Orc Horde Hack and Slash or dungeon crawl. The Dalelands are a great base of operation for low level guys to gain a lot of XP while being close to civilization. The Western Heartlands are great for exploration type campaigns. The Unnapproachable East probably allows the most variety of races and classes becasuse of the golden way. The old empires are great for political matches and crypt crawls. I hope those can help you narrow your search. |

| Manwe05-27-04, 06:11 PM | I have been thinking about somewhere in Cormyr. What do ye think? I want a good place wherethey can make discoveries about the country and adventure in lands unknown( or not very well known) by themselves. |

A keep near Arabel would make a good starting point, it has the woods at reach, The sea at reach, The Swamp at reach, The mountains at reach, Even the Anarouch at reach! I hope this "inspires" you. I always have a patron of 5th or 6th level, a priest or wizard of 3-5th level, but only if there are none in the group. I suaually spend the first 2 or three session getting a feel for the people in the keep. Running errands and such. Also it makes it seem more genuine if the group comes back and Balten the blacksmith left to aid his brother near tilverton, then it can open up a hook or two if the game gets slow. |
