DarkKitsune 12-19-06, 07:11 PM	Hello; As the title implies, I'm planning on starting a new campaign, this one based in and around Waterdeep and the Moonshae Isles, and, having but the basics, was wondering which books people would suggest so I can plan my purchases ahead of time. The campaign's flavour is going to be swashbuckling/high adventure with a fair amount of high seas adventure thrown in for good measure. So, um, any suggestions for spending avenues that would be worth my while (both in the FR line and the main line of product) would be much appreciated ^_^.

Non-FR Stormwrack (sp?) There are many more sources and general swashbuckling/nautical topics you might want to delve into over the net, etc. But this is a start... Good luck, Lokahn
Merlin_Durwood 12-19-06, 09:41 PM	Stormwrack works if you plan on having it be nautical heavy. If you were offering a more swashbuckling style, then I might reccomend the Complete Warrior for the Swashbuckler itself. Complete Adventurer might hold a few things for you if you are doing a more swashbuckling/high adventures style game. Also, I might recommend to look into a few other sources maybe that could provide more about swashbucklers, as I am trying to find a way to have a character who does fit that motif. Good luck to you!

Faraer 12-21-06, 12:18 PM	Among current books, you want City of Splendors: Waterdeep. Among out-of-print books, available as downloads from paizo.com for $4 each, for the Moonshaes, get FR2 Moonshae and FA1 Halls of the High King; for Waterdeep, City of Splendors (1994) and Volo's Guide to Waterdeep. Also The North and Lands of Intrigue, both free downloads (http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/dnd/downloads), have more information on the surrounding lands and seas. These will stand you in much better stead than D&D rules supplements.
ZolDarklock 12-30-06, 01:34 AM	"Moonshaes", and "Halls of the High King", and the "fr atlas" has some real good upclose and detailed areas that are a must visit for all pc's with Halls of the High King module, you can taylor it to bring Bane, or Xvim back into the realms, introduce the PC's to the baddest evilest group of adventures ever concieved "High Hands of Bane" introduce them to the beast Kazgorath, the Black Wizards, Flamesterd, even bring back the Earthmother into the realms, the Leviathan, the pack, and the great unicorn, renowed dracoliches like Gotha, and the swashbuckling adventures in the moonshae area is unlimited... Halls of the High King module also introduces many side adventures and extended campaign info for the area, along with new items, spells, creatures, unique places, and must meet npc's, and they get a real cool long long adventure, and a good ship to start their swashbuckling sea adventures with... The High Hands of Bane adventuring party memebers will become your PC's bitter enemies for many decades of adventuring they are that damn bad and well laid out, you will need to do some 3e tweaking
miscellany 12-30-06, 02:35 AM	Hello I think if Swashbuckling is your style then Stormwrack will be a very useful book expecially because it has all kinds of rules for ships and combat on the seas. My DM uses it for our Eberron game even though it is a generic book but we do have a real blast with what is in it. I hope you have fun! :)
