| Dargoth09-20-03, 07:38 PM | How about including a section that has stats for some of the Monster gods in the book ie The Dragon Pantheon Lizard man gods etc? |
| Banshee09-21-03, 12:00 AM | My suggestion would be to bring the Asaathi race from Scarred Lands into Forgotten Realms....they are very cool :) Not sure if they're open source, or can be used by Wizards or anything... Banshee |
| Krash09-21-03, 02:40 AM | My understanding is that the pre-edited "Serpent Kingdoms" was long anyway (Eric does tend to try and cram in every FR reference possible, and Ed never misses an opportunity either ...) so don't hold your breath. And am I right in surmising that you want STATS for the serpent gods? As in how many levels they have in what classes, their hps, ACs, etc .... Umm, why?? Wouldn't it be far more useful to have details with respect to their worshippers, how they are worshipped, religious rituals, temple locations, etc.? Stats for gods are a waste of time IMHO - PCs shouldn't be out trying to kill gods, and if they aren't, then there is no need for gods to have stats. YMMV. | Dargoth09-21-03, 03:13 AM | I want write ups like those found in F&P Id like to see Avatar stats (but not if its a deal breaker) Id prefer that they not put in Deity stats as they take up to much room |
| Gez09-21-03, 07:30 AM | It's quite useless to post suggestions to planned products, because it's WotC's (and several other companies', actually) policy to not announce a product until its content is finished. They don't want the bad press that comes from cancelling an announced product, I think. Nor to give time to other people to beat them to the press with a similar project. However, suggested things may appear in web-enhancement or other products. |
| Dargoth09-21-03, 08:05 AM | I doubt its Finished Im pretty sure Rich Baker said they only started SK not long ago |

Greetings from South Aussie.:) -- George Krashos I agree...having books full of stats of dieties was really rather foolish. I don't know about them waiting in many dungeons guarding treasure.. Some interesting races, spells, societies, organizations etc. would be far better. Banshee |

Banshee Banshee, anything about the race such as their description isn't open source (nor their names). HOWEVER their combat stuff and stats ARE OGC. Course you still probably want to talk with Clark Peterson and Bill Webb. They control the copyright to it. |

I'd rather see unique magic & plot devices rather than more deities. It's not like there aren't already a few deities available that could reasonably serve as patrons. |

Heck, I'd rather have a book that details a specialty priest type prestige class or order for each of the religions, rather than the dieties themselves. Banshee |

And I also agree that god stats are oh-so useless... The only thing I use F&P for is the fluff related to each god. |

Banshee Between Sseth, Ubtao, Finder Wyvernspur (who needs more to do, & could always assume other aspects, ala Tiamat's aspect of Entropy, in order to gain more worship), and other various scaly gods already in existance, lizard & serpent folk have plenty of deities to pray to. I'm hoping that the Winding Serpent scenario from the Perilous Gateways! material on this website will be fleshed out a bit more in this book. http://wizards.com/dnd/article.asp?x=fr/pg20010711x |

It depends on whether the designers like the idea Rich Baker liked the idea when I suggested he include the Kuo Toa and Mind flayer gods in Underdark, but unfortunately it was already set in stone (im still hoping for a web enhancment) |

If you can find it, 2e Faiths and Avatars is by far more complete than the 3e stuff that's out there in F&P for deity listing. Even it's not 100% but it's closer to the mark than the 3e book is. Safe Journeys, Praxian |

Even it's not 100% but it's closer to the mark than the 3e book is. Safe Journeys, Praxian All three of the "godbooks" rocked, IMHO. All three gave great details on each deity. Every deific write-up also included things like affiliated orders, holidays, dogma, major centers of worship, day-to-day activities of the clergy, that deity's specialty priests, and unique spells used by the clergy. Faiths & Avatars, Powers & Pantheons, and Demihuman Deities are the three books. The first detailed the major deities of Faerūn, the second detailed the lesser ones and the ones of other human pantheons, and the last dealt with the deities of the demi-human races. Those books are the best resource for the deities of the Realms, and for their clerics. |

IMO the last thing the Realms need is yet another new race, especially considering the rate at which already Realmsian races that were thought 'extinct' are returning. |
