Thayan artifact hunt.... [Archive] - Wizards Community

03-04-04, 10:17 PM My Pc's are currently on their way to Thay to find out what artifact the Reds are using a group of the PC's enemys to find. Well what would crazy power hungry wizards be looking for? I also have a new player coming to the group.....he made a sun elf wizard from evermeet....i was thinking of having him on a quest to get the item before the Reds and bring it back to evermeet ( the elves always want to keep powerful magical items away from humans right?).

So i didnt really flesh out what they are indeed searching for but maybe some of you can inspire me with ideas.

03-05-04, 07:31 AM Ok, you want an idea on a powerful object. Well how about this. A device that can summon and control the Tarrasque. There is only one in the world and it's stats are other-worldly. You can see what it can do on Pg. 174 in the Monster Manual. But if you do this, it could be an end game thing that your looking at. To beat it is very, very hard and if you do the XP would be....well it has a challlenge level of 20. I have never used one my-self in a game, but it is alway something I wanted to try. If this helps or you want something different then let me know. I use this site a lot for ideas and are more then willing to help others out, like I have been helped. Good luck!

IE If the Red Wizards got it they could easily use the portals in the Yuir to attack Algorand

AND this aftifact would also allow them to break the teleportation defense that Evermeet itself has.

You could have a bunch of evil people who want.

1. Thay wants it to assault Algorand
2. Drow want it to assault Evermeet
3. Evermeet wants it so they can get rid of it.
4. Zhents want it so they can use the portals to further the black network.

As for the artifact it self... I'd make it a rusty keychain with a bunch of old key's on it.

Why not have a magical device that can steal the life force from an elf and place it in another creature. useless to the elves but worth taking away from te thayens.

Imaging Thayen wiz who live to be 1,000 years old. they would drool at the very idea.
