Monsoon28 04-22-04, 06:17 AM	In response to reading Okay guys, knock it off I just wanted to say I appreciate the work and time Big_Sister puts into moderating this site, She is professional, polite and courteous. I think she isn't at all rude when she closes a Novel Discussion thread and tries to inform the creator as to why that thread was shut down. It's not her fault if there is a unpopular policy in place, it is merely her job to uphold it. I for one say...Thank you Big_Sista! :angel:

Trashing BigSis wont bring it back either. It just proves the point as to why they removed them in the first place.

I got a form letter in reply, saying it was done "for business reasons," and "we appreciate your input on this matter..." In other words, complaints go in one ear and out the other. Thanks for nothing, WotC. And I have nothing personal against WizO_Big_Sister, but it must really suck to be seen as the boards' equivalent of a police department's Internal Affairs Division... I'm not saying she is, just that some people might see things that way...

It has been very, very hard to enforce rules that were not my idea. I understand people’s frustrations and anger, but it has been hard trying to steer people to using the right outlets for this. I have hung in there because I really think these forums are worth it. The WizOs have also been fighting behind the scenes to keep as much freedom of speech as possible on these forums ... but in order to do that we've had to try and steer us away from the old "flame war" days. But the bottom line is it wasn’t any Wizos who made the changes … it was you. I have been very proud of how constructive, courteous, helpful and friendly by far and away the vast majority of posters are. The Realms is a great world ... with a wide range of places, people, culture, scenery, climate, magics, technology ... a huge rambling place with something for everyone. I think these forums are just like that ... we have room for loads of different kinds of gamers, different ages and outlooks. I think you guys are building a place where there is something for everyone.

If he sees a report of a really, really outrageous violation and I am not online he'll act straight away, but almost always he leaves it for me. That's not laziness, it just means I know what's going on. I act as back up over on the D20 boards ... we all back up somebody :)

I definitely think that BigSis doesn't deserve any flak for it. Especially because Candlekeep.com has its own novels forum, including dedicated threads for most of the authors. But them's the rules--she doesn't write them, she just has to enforce an unpopular decision. And, speaking personally anyway, I sure wouldn't want to get on WotC's bad side, and I don't even work for them...

After a lot of brain storming (causing serious neural strain and a bad case of smoke coming out my ears) I've added some extra notes to the rules on novels which hopefully will explain what we are doing a bit better. My bosses have said its ok to leave this thead here for a while, because here is where the bad comments were being made. We've had a rough and confusing time so lets bend the rules a little for something positive and fun.
