Why Chauntea? Has she ever called upon her or even venerated her? I always figured she would follow the dwarf deities or Tempus........

Just curious why you picked that deity for her...... Not trying to be critical about it though.

Catti-brie's deity is the dwarven god Dumathoin. R. A. Salvatore said so in Siege of Darkness at the end of chapter 13, when she overcomes the compulsion of Khazid'hea, her drow-made magical sword. The sword's pommel reshapes itself into the likeness of a running panther, with Dumathoin's symbol on its flank.

Thanks Ssussunriyh for that info. I have fixed the mistake. Anyone else notice any mistakes so far?

Hey there,

I've never read any of the novels, so I'm not entirely sure if this was taken out of one of the novels that involved the character.

But to my knowledge the weapon attribute "keen" can only apply to a slashing weapon, so by definition a bow is a bludgeoning weapon and the arrows are piercing, thus as I would understand it couldn't be keen.

Of topic - A pity to an extent, cause at a stage I wanted a duelist with improved critical and a keen rapier. Power with a threatend range of /10 -20.

Back to topic, otherwise the character is looking good.

I see no problem with keen rapiers, spears, etc. If a longsword is keen, does that mean that every stab of the longsword negates the keen enchantment? I don't think so.

From the 3.5 SRD:
Keen: This ability doubles the threat range of a weapon. Only piercing or slashing weapons can be keen. (If you roll this property randomly for an inappropriate weapon, reroll.) This benefit doesn’t stack with any other effect that expands the threat range of a weapon (such as the keen edge spell or the Improved Critical feat).
Moderate transmutation; CL 10th; Craft Magic Arms and Armor, keen edge; Price +1 bonus.

I wasn't aware that 3.5 change to the keen ability.

In the 3E DMG it specifies slashing only.

Tah, for pointing out Herr Dokter. Danke Schoen

I saw Cattie-brie and the bouldershoulder brothers statted out on the WotC site. I believe she was a ftr 7, Ivan was a ftr8, and Pikel was a ftr3/drd 5.

Bruenor Battlehammer: Male shield dwarf Fighter 15; CR 15

Wulfgar: Male human Barbarian 10; CR 10

Catti-brie: Female human Fighter 7/Ranger 3 of Dumathoin; CR 10

Regis: Male lightfoot halfling Rogue 10; CR 10

Ivan Bouldershoulder: Male shield dwarf Fighter 13; CR 13

Pikel Bouldershoulder: Male shield dwarf Fighter 4/Druid 9; CR 12

In the 3E DMG it specifies slashing only. Yes, it does. But that is nothing but an error. The official errata for the 3e DMG corrected this error and said that keen can be applied to slashig and piercing weapons, even under 3.0 rules
