| Alisttair06-27-03, 10:31 AM | Allright, here is what we do here. Everyone comes into this thread and talks about Undermountain, the deepest dungeon of them all. Tell everyone anything about it, your opinions, information, your experiences in the place, whatever. I guess I should start, and I'll do so with 2 experiences in the place. Well as a DM, I partied a group of Dwarves who had to retrieve the Acridirk (one of the Daggers of Ochir Naal) which I decided was still in there, but when they got to the third level (I didnt make them run through everything in the other levels), they met up with the servant vampire (of a certain group I wont mention in case my players read this, but some of you may know) who had just retrieved it and they succesfully fought him and other undead denizens for it. This campaign is still going on with the two main plots of retrieving the other daggers and of regaining their lost homeland of the Wailing Dwarf. The other experience so far is as a PC (which we are just starting) who is a Thayan CN Wizard (soon to be level 1 cleric and eventual loremaster) who worships Shaundakul and left the evil country of Thay. My characters goal is to locate and map out every single portal in Undermountain. Granted I know it cant be done and that some portals are random, but of course I won't be metagame thinking, just playing a character who will try such a daunting task will be enough. Time will tell if and/or how succesfull I am. |

Manshoon is alone within his sanctuary and thoughts of past glory are surfacing again. Unknown to him, Halaster has returned, yet in a deep slumber. Manshoon is ready to leave Undermountain, taking the secrets with him, which he had learned from Halaster. He knows the troubles that have befallen Sememmon and Darkhold. He goes in search of him to rebuild the western Zhentarim and deal with the fake manshoon and Fzoul the ursurper. Oh there are so many plans I wish to share, but I know one of my players i snooping around here often. So alas... |
| JamesL8506-29-03, 10:59 PM | There is a Yahoo group that is entirely devoted to the Realms. The link is here (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/FRDMing/) . The only problem is that you have to be approved to get in. I didn't have a problem getting in, other than I must have hit on a weekend and had to wait a couple of days. I have to say that the wait was DEFINITELY worth it. There is a Steven on the board (scorge30) that has been going through the entire first level of UM, detailing areas that he's either taken people through or detailed waiting to take people through. I think he's close to finishing level 1 and am hoping fervently that he'll keep going. I found out about the board from another poster on Mortalities (http://mortality.net/board/) boards. Halaster has been working on a Back In Print project and someone pointed him to the vast info provided by Steven. Just thought I'd throw it out..... |

I've never done an adventure to undermountain because my PC's are rather sarced they want to be high level i was just giving something to think on....:teach: |

There are SOOOO many empty rooms just waiting for an enterprising DM to fill. It wasn't that hard to convert to 3.5 either. It made for good practice in learning the 3.5 system. |
