WizO_BigSister 01-18-05, 06:52 AM	It's a new year so I thought it would be a good time to take a new look at the FR Boards FAQ Forum (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=490) This forum belongs to all of you, not to me and the rest of the Wizos, so we need to know what you think :) For starters what about the name? The original idea was to have a place where people could find lots of information about the Forgotten Realms in general; and helpful info about these forums. Does the name and the blurb put this across? Some things have to be written by Wizos. Explanations of the Code of Conduct, copyright, the way moderating/warns/banning works all have to be written by someone who has gone through the Wizo selection and training processes. The forums were set up so only Wizos and scribes can post on them, because before we did this people kept cluttering up the threads with questions and suggestions in the wrong place. It doesn’t mean we are the only people who can contribute. aravilar_holistacia has done a wonderful job on the FAQs. Go here (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=229956) to see his list of questions and answers. Sadly he has resigned as a scribe and won’t be updating this list any more. I would like to make sure the information he has already written isn’t lost, and that it gets updated as new books come out. Has anyone got ideas about how to do this? These are a couple of projects I have seen suggested on the forums. Campaign newsflashes A place for people to give brief “news reports” about major events in their own campaigns. The Ultimate Forgotten Realms Calendar A comprehensive list of special dates and festivals, with a one line description and a note about the source. We could possibly include “unofficial” or “homebrew” dates (clearly marked), so long as there was a link to a more complete description. Also kiwidoc would be happy for us to use the list she worked out of Faerunian dates matched up to Earth dates. Enough of me wittering on … time for your ideas and suggestions!
Mendicant 02-22-05, 12:54 AM	Overall, I think the forum is self explanatory and easy to use. Might I suggest 3 things: 1) A place where people can post their campaigns. 2) A thread(s) discussing things lacking in background and information by WOTC at this juncture. For example, I have a thread started discussing the Yuir gods, which have not been detailed either in 2e or 3e. Perhaps a forum to discuss things that need more detail? Then, it could be routinely gathered and forwarded on to the designers to let them know where our interest lies. 3) A survey regarding WOTC products here on the boards. I know they have one on the WOTC site, but here feedback and results could be discussed in more detail and then forwarded. Also, I feel like I am heard here - I don't really in a regular survey...
Moscone 02-25-05, 04:46 AM	I'd like to add perhaps a section where people can post what products from previous editions they'd like to see updated (aside from everyone's request for Kara-Tur, Maztica, Zakhara and the Horde), but previous products and adventures that we'd like to see return, such as Hellgate Keep, the North, etc. Also maybe a special place for people to post their conversions from previous editions, such as monsters from the older compendiums, for use in their own games.

I think a "Conversions" sub-forum, a "Campaigns" subforum, an "Adventure Ideas" subforum, and a "Current Clack" subforum would all be great; obviously, I can't imagine why you'd want to add four new topic areas, but any one of these would be welcome. I'd also love to see a "Bin Forum" into which you could stuff the following topics: 1) Debates about the FR cosmology 2) Debates about the nature of epic spellcasting vs. elven high magic/Netherese magic/10th-level spells 3) Drizzt 4) Various plots to kill the Chosen 5) Stats for NPCs detailed in novels/supplements 6) Edition debates
Ecteon 06-05-05, 01:13 AM	I have to say that I agree with ryld_argith149. This being a FR post, more about the FR literature would be good. Has anyone ever done a chronological list of the Harpers Books? How about all the books that contain information about Elminster? How about information about little known books that go outside the beaten path, or even writing some new books that spend serious quality time out to sea or really digging into a city that you don't get a very good look at?
msatran 06-05-05, 01:16 AM	We need people who treat these characters as characters rather than as "Plots to Kill the Chosen" or whatever ridiculous things your PC's have done. We need statblocks for these characters that actually REFLECT their power levels. My god, every single Chosen of Mystra, assuming they adventure like PC's do, should have a +5 Inherent Bonus to every stat, and the magic items and skills to back it up. If the PC's can have it, these guys should too. Alustriel alone, who's hardly the most powerful of them, should run at INT 37 (Epic Headband of Intellect +8, 6 Int Raises, 18 INT Base, etc.) And Khelben, at level 30? My god, he should have an INT of something like 40 (Epic Headband of Intellect +10, 18 INT Base, +5 Inherent Bonus, 7 Int Raises) These people are the rulers of Nations, movers and shakers, the mightiest of the mighty. Looking at their statblocks and finding out that your PC's are tougher than them is kind of lame. :) And STOP using the Elite Array. There is no way on god's green earth that a character like Alustriel or Khelben started as a wizard with an INT of 16. I just can't believe that. And you guys shouldn't either.
castlemike 06-30-05, 02:53 AM	Business must be good but this latest decision to publish source books without Indices was the last straw for me after 30 years of regularly purchasing new source books and materials. Without an Indice a new source book has to be really top notch and not the general run of the mill products being churned out lately. Personally I would rather see new source books with 10-20% fewer pages devoted to artwork to provide indices. Failing that an Indice Faq for the new source books we can print out and stick in the back like Keith did for Sharn City of Towers on his web site would be acceptable.
