wtf_thats_my_head 05-29-07, 09:10 PM	ok post about toril food do they have water melon,grapes,tomotames(sorry for spelling) pizza,choclates,coco beans (coffee),bannanas,seeweed,cerael (oatmeal mush )OJ, grape, strawberries,cream cheese,brown suger,turkry,pickels,maple sryup,chili,onoins,cherries, feel free to post the answers to these and your forrgotten realms foods you wat to see if they have.

Old Sage 05-29-07, 10:02 PM	You're not going to find most modern food types in the Realms. Realmsian equivalents, perhaps. Rather, I would suggest looking through the various Volo's Guides, like those for Waterdeep and the North, which should provide you with some meals and food types, both basic and easy-to-prepare, that you can use for your campaigns. Ed's mentioned a couple in his replies from time to time, also. There's also a few mentions in Aurora's Whole Realms Catalogue.
Old Sage 05-29-07, 10:17 PM	Having said that... You'll find coffee in Zakhara. The Bedine cultivate coffee crops, given that it is considered their favorite drink -- hot salted-coffee. They also make use of rubbed coffee-grounds for dye. Coffee is often served at the Fifth Nights function hosted by the Wizards Guild in Ravens Bluff. Coffee is grown in Semphar. Sweetened coffee is a popular beverage served in Duirtanal. Coffee is grown in Ulgarth. As well as in Durpar where it is that country's most profitable export. Shining South notes that coffee is popular in most southeastern lands of the Realms, and is becoming popular in other regions across the Realms as well. See Ed's March 6, 2005 and August 4, 2005 replies as well. Bananas do exist in the Realms, and in orchards throughout Zakhara. Monkey spiders, in the Realms, are said to feed on bananas. One of the material components for the spell, "Caddelyn's Catastrophe", is a banana peel. There are banana groves in Mezro. Banana plantations exist throughout Luiren also. The halflings are said to sometimes export bananas to other locations throughout the Realms. Ed has noted "pizza"-styled meals... from March '04 - "The taverns of Tantras serve the usual drinks and ‘hot buns' covered with melted cheese (some taverns putting sliced olives or slices of sausage on the cheese so they'll stick, to make their buns distinctive and popular), but little other food."
