The Importance of Maps [Archive] - Wizards Community

Does anyone have any advice on how to handle maps and travel in-game? How much about the location should you explain to the PCs? Should they have maps?

That kind of stuff.

07-09-05, 04:28 AM In my campaigns maps are extremely important. You should be able to find tables over travels. You should explain enough that they get a clear image of the location they're at. Yes, they should have maps. Not of the dungeon they're exploring, but probably of the town they just arrived at.
