I just bought the novel to day and started to read it, so now I wonder if someone could tell me Araevin's statics / levels.

Araevin hasn't been statted out, but the esteemed Mr. Baker has dropped hints here and there about his level, both in this message board as well as Candlekeep.

What can be inferred is that Araevin, at the start of the Last Mythal, is about level 14-15 (notice all those comments about prismatic spray being his most powerful spell?), with a possible level of fighter. No stats given out though.

At the end of the trilogy, Mr. Baker stated that most of the characters, including Araevin, are around 'low Epic' (22-24ish). Still nothing conclusive given, except that now Araevin can now cast Elven High Magic. Solo.

Okey, thanks. Any thing more, like magic items? (Please do not say anything to spoil me reading on the novel)

How did Araevin get from level 15 to level 22 in a three book series? He didn't fight *that* many enemies.

His adventures in Book I boosted him from 14-15th to 17-18th, then selu'kiira provided him following minimum benefits:
1. exp sufficient for advancement to epic level
2. the Epic Spellcasting feat
3. one or more epic spells
...

Okey, I hope you are right Jiggawha, thanks.

-Araevin performs a High Magic ritual, and becomes a Surin'Tel'Quessir, greatly increasing himself, and his capabilities.

-As a side note on Araevin, there is a picture of him (I am assuming), in Underdark. One of the items is illustrated, and depicts Araevin. Something about a portal-crushing hammer, or some such...

Okey, I didn't know that, thanks.

Yep he's page 76, destroying a portal with some magical item. I believe he's illustrated a couple of times in City of the Spider Queen as well.

-Strange. I wonder if it was the same Araevin, or if it was simply some other Sun Elf named Araevin. And, if it is the same Araevin, what is he doing in CotSQ?

I think Rich Baker explained that many months ago. If I recall correctly he said at the same time he was working on the Last Mythal trilogy, he was also dropping notes into the sourcebooks he contributed to for FR iconic characters (as opposed to regular D&D/Greyhawk iconics). Araevin happened to be one of those characters that accidentally leaked into the sourcebooks as an iconic character despite already having a distinct and leading role in the at-the-time planned/in-progress trilogy.

I think a Sun Elf wizard makes a good iconic character for FR, though unfortunately the hand of fate/Mr. Baker had already planned bigger things for him.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, it's been a while, memory is fuzzy.

Araevin is also on the front cover of the Player's Guide to Faeraun battling a Manshoon clone. In the trilogy it says several times that Araevin has been on a lot of adventures all over Faeraun.

In one book he says he's been in the Underdark before so that portal demolisher pic could have really happened.

Ohh, cool didn't know he was on a front cover, but how about these stats anything you can tell me on that (the most info, spells, weapons, armours, wands etc.)?

He hasn't been statted officially but hopefully someone will homebrew him in the Realms NPC thread. One day in Dragon perhaps or in the upcoming Realms of the Elves, eh? Eh? Eh? Eh? Eric Boyd? How about it?

-That is very true. I didn't take that into consideration.

-Don't bother...I've already tried to hit him up on that one. But, the need for the book remains. Maybe we should all get together and make an awesome Netbook?

Oh definitely and the absolute moment we finish that, WotC will be prompted to create an official book that contradicts everything we've put down just to undermine our work and immortal souls.

I was thinking of statting him, though I cannot find my Forsaken House, and I've collected all information about him from Farthest Reach, I'm rereading Final Gate these days

Netbook?

That would be great, I was also thinking of creating my own book

I'm not sure about his total stats, but I know he has two weapon fighting and the dual wand wielder feat.
I would also venture to say he has improved counterspell.

In the first books he talks about making his own wands! So craft wand is also a good feat.

Was that a twillight mithril chain shirt he was wearing in the first novel?:P

Ever heard the phrase "Power Levelling"? Just as a lv20+ Diablo2 character can instantly shoot 10+ lvs by having a high lv friend bring him into the 3-barb fight quest in LOD, so too did Aravein shoot 10+ lvs when he read a book...:D

I had written a post some time ago saying it was time for some revision with all the things that have happened.I don't think it's really hard for WotC create a free web file of 15-20 pages where there would be included all the statistics of the newly appeared characters and also updates for older ones(i.e King Obuld seems to have grown in power if i'm right?).When i had first posted abou revision and updates most people misunderstood me and thought i was asking for another uselless book with tones of garbage new mega-feats etc.I think it's time for WotC to do us a favor and simply provides us with some usefull info and nothing more!
PS. how did Araevin gained so many levels?Well i think it's because of the facts at the end of the second book. With all that stuff tha he was tampering he definitely speeded up the proccesion of leveling up.

I would imagine that use of the Telkiira artifact that he's using/studying during this time contributes to his rapid gain in power.

If I were to spec out the Telkiira artifiact, it would have an effect similiar to a Libram of Silver Magic (but only for scions of the Dlardrageth family).

Damn. I never knew Araevin was a character in Diablo 2. I could have sworn he was from the Forgotten Realms. :P

-That picture of him destroying the portal in Underdark? That was a portal to Diablospace. He visited once, but it sucked, and he destroyed the portal, so that no one would ever have to visit again.

Three cheers of Araevin!

Anyway as for his mega level, ... I presume that the Nightstar simply gave him a *****load of experiance, and then his ritual gave him even more. Plus, I mean, Defeating Malwhatever must give alot of EXP too.

I think Malkazid's CR is actually 'too high' to grant XP to Araevin given the level he probably was before battling. I'm pretty sure it was more than 8 above his level....
Alediran

On a 1 vs 1 battle, sure, but there where circumstances that reduced Malkizid's CR, therefore Araevin's group could probably earn XP from him.
