| Steelwind09-03-07, 06:49 AM | Ok, I heard a rumor (and we all know how these things can go) that The Orc King was going to be set 100 years in the future where most of the Realms has been destroyed by war and Drizzt and Obould are working together to found a peaceful nation. So then I decided to do some research on the matter and in more than one place found decriptions pertaining to it taking place shortly after the end of the Hunters Blade trilogy and the fallout dealing with those events. So I, in a search for validity, decided to query you guys and see what you have heard on the matter. |
| Miryana09-03-07, 11:56 AM | Perhaps not major, but still spoilered: Apparently the prologue/epilogue are written by Drizzt a hundred years after the events in the book take place. The actual story starts after the events of the last trilogy, as the official descriptions say. |
| MarkusTay6309-03-07, 12:13 PM | Yes, the story is written from the perspective of 'future Drizzt' looking back at the events that enfolded some 100 years earlier. Several reliable sources have gone as far as saying the The Orc King was going to be chock full O' spoilers for whats to come in FR 4e. |
| DarkSongKnight09-04-07, 02:16 PM | I tremble before the coming of The Orc King. Ten years is fine, but one-hundred?! Heh, now I'm glad I play elven characters instead of human ones (most of the time). ;) |
