11-04-05, 08:25 AM Alright - Let me say first off that I looked up and down like I always do when it comes to my topics. I did not know for sure where to place something I'm trying to get some suggestions on. I felt the General would be best since I have seen Harpers and other groups like them posted in here. And, my topic covers preety much a little bit of the others places (Little God and Magic, little Combat/Weapons, little People, etc.) I'm not new these boards, so Ms. Lyoness don't think that evil thought ;) :dancin: ;)

Most of you know that I have been working on and off my campaign Triangle of Three. A Campaign that involves a great deal of Lathander (Amaunthor perhaps), Chauntea and Selune. It involves three devotee's to them. A Priest of Lathander (Sorcerer, Leader of a Temple) a Guardian (Warrior, Cleric Half Drow Female of a 'elite' group) and Follower of Chauntea (Druid, goes around blessing things in her name)

Anyways - Most of you also know that about a month back there was heavy debate involving the Sorcerer using a Spell on a Demon. Basically, this spell takes the soul of being (Ie: Demon, the embodiment of a soul) and traps it into a diamond for a year. At the end of the year of see it's life back, it stands a chance of being labled 'good' instead of 'evil'. I decided that Lathander would easily allow this because he would consider it a Rebirth of a Soul. As you'll see in one of the topics mention, Zandilar came up with a great revision of this spell and doesn't sound so broken or easily done.
(I ask you check it out if you have any questions on it)

So, I got to thinking. After the Demon and Sorcerer go on this quest together by Him, what would the Demon (now a Cleric/Somethingelse) do? Well, why not try to do what was bestowed upon him? Why couldn't he begin a secret group of Redeemed Demons and Devils to Lathander? I could imagine that Lathander ingame would give, or let him earn, the things needed (level, skill points, item, etc.) temporairly for the task. They would have a great deal of responsbility, but at the end, Lathander would reward them by their souls being reborn into the species they once were before, to have a chance oncemore. I think I see this group being in golds, whites and soft creme colors. I don't know Lathander's color for sure, but I'm thinking it's the obvious ones. I see them decked out in holy symbols to Him, I think I see them mostly as Cleric/Priest based.

Do any of you have any thoughts or suggestions for this? What they're name might be, maybe classes they would have, etc. I'm sure I could come up with some stuff, but I know everyone here is agood at ideas also so I'd love some input and suggestions :)

Edit: I chose the name of the group - What else now should we work on?

Salvation's Sons, The Dawnbringer's Get, The Purified, Dawn's Redeemed, The Brotherhood of Genesis, Children of First Light, The Absolved, The Order of the Crucible, The Company of Rebirth, The Rebels of the Aurora, The Saints Absolved...
One last thing man: If these baddies have to work for their absolution, is Lathander going to make them continue to actively adventure after they are reborn? I know, since they are so pious, they would probably want to, but I see these guys as traveling Evangelists, local priests, lay priests or monks. I see them trying to spend at least some of their new found life in silent contemplation of their absolution, the nature of sin and redemption, etc.

Salvation's Sons, The Dawnbringer's Get, The Purified, Dawn's Redeemed, The Brotherhood of Genesis, Children of First Light, The Absolved, The Order of the Crucible, The Company of Rebirth, The Rebels of the Aurora, The Saints Absolved...
One last thing man: If these baddies have to work for their absolution, is Lathander going to make them continue to actively adventure after they are reborn? I know, since they are so pious, they would probably want to, but I see these guys as traveling Evangelists, local priests, lay priests or monks. I see them trying to spend at least some of their new found life in silent contemplation of their absolution, the nature of sin and redemption, etc.

Actually, I don't know what they're job would be entirely other than important tasks for Lathander. Think about it this way, your a demon'esq looking creature. Sure, you have Dawn symbols all over you and your wearing robes, carrying a Sun-Like Staff among other things. Sure, your skin is now perhaps fair toned from it's grotesq days. But, even though you a redeemed demon, your still a demon in some ones eyes. So, basically they'd be a secret group doing behind the job work. Example might be this Unknown Group coming to aid a village under attack by Shar Clergy. What better to use in the middle of the night than a bunch of demons and devils that are good and can blast light up their wazoos?

Course, only a very few high ranking Clergy men and women of Lathander would know about them too. You don't want word getting out to anyone but a select group :). But it's kinda funny, cause I see these Demon and Devils taking on the gender they once were too. Like I see a blue skinned female devil, and a tanned skin demon side by side wearing these heavy looking, shimmering robes of the colors I mentioned above. So, that is why I'm trying to do my best and get all of your all suggestions and thoughts about this.

Oh, and the bold name suggestion. I actually had that suggested over on the Candlekeep one too ;)

Alright, so I was thinking. "Well...there are High Elves Mages. And if they all say the same spell..yadyaya...it's uber"

What if this group was given a couple of Prayers that could do the same thing??? How would that go, and should a template/PrC be applied to this group?
