I am really new to this game, and some friends of mine just invited me to play in their group weekly. I was going to buy some minis, everyone is kind of new, two guys been playing for a while, but we do need minis. Thing is i'm not sure where to buy them or which type. If I got it right, Savage Tide relates to The Living Greyhawk which is in the forgotten realms maybe. anyway if I am doing savage tide what booster pack or where should I get minis, and does anyone new where I could find a good druid mini, as that is the class of the character I have. Thanks for any help.

Not sure about the Mini's but The Living Greyhawk is not in Forgetten Realms. They are two completely different campaign settings.

If you're really looking for a mini, I would say go online and see if you can find you're really looking for. Otherwise you're buying booster packs and you never really know what you're buying.

Not sure if I helped but I tried.

The World of Greyhawk is one "world" (commonly called a campaign setting). The Forgotten Realms is a different "world."

Savage Tide is a series of adventures printed in Dungeon magazine by Paizo Publishing.

The Savage Tide "adventure path" (i.e. the 12 adventures published serially) is set in the World of Greyhawk.

However, conversions are also available online for the Dungeon Master if your group wants to play "The Savage Tide". These conversions show you how to play the Savage Tide in worlds such as the Forgotten Realms.

There are no miniatures explicitly tied to the Savage Tide (and none planned so far as I know).

There are two avenues available to you to acquire miniatures.

One approach is to buy pre-painted plastic miniatures from Wizards of the Coast. If you buy them in the primary market, they come in boxes with a "random" distribution. If you buy them in the secondary market, you can find the exact miniature you want and buy it used. (Most aren't really used and come in their plastic wrapper, but technically they are out of the original shipment booster packs.)

I would suggest deciding what kind of character you would like to play (halfling rogue, human fighter, etc.) and then look at this site:

http://www.vesivus.com/minis/index.htm

In particular, these druid figures have been produced:

http://www.vesivus.com/minis/Druid.htm

I'm not endorsing them, but I do find their searching and sorting functions very convenient.

The second approach is to look for booster packs of metal miniatures at your local gaming shop, find the one you want that matches your concept for your character, and paint it.
