| The_Sleeper01-10-04, 01:26 PM | Does anyone know what Dragon Mag said about the Imaskarcana? The only info i have on them is from the old FR site, and it isnt specific at all. I know Dragon had something on em a while back, but i dont have a subscription, so i missed it. Anyone?> |

Thank you. So lemme get this straight... the Seven Imaskarcana are MASKS?? bah, i liked them so much more when i thought they were spellbooks:sad: . So whats so special about these masks... |
| Faraer01-10-04, 01:57 PM | They're major artifacts with curses created by the Cabal of Madness. It's one of those 3E articles that tediously spends most of its time detailing magical powers rather than lore (though adventure hooks are included). It's a persuasive enough interpretation, but see here (http://oracle.wizards.com/scripts/wa.exe?A2=ind9904D&L=realms-l&P=R13180) for Steven Schend's own thoughts (the original reference was his). |
| The_Sleeper01-10-04, 02:14 PM | Yea, thats the same text from the "Pages from the Sages". I never thought they would end up being masks though. IMHO, i liked them more as books of collective magical knowledge of the Imaskari. :smirk: |
| smashthedean01-10-04, 07:36 PM | In the Underdark book, the Third Imaskarcana is detailed on page 76. It is a book, not a mask. |
| Shemeska the Marauder01-11-04, 12:41 AM | Wierd, all of the information I remember had them as repositories of magic knowledge by the Imaskari. The 3rd of the 7, as mentioned before, was indeed a tome though the Deep Imaskari didn't know the location or even the form of the other 6. Yay contradiction ;) |
| The_Sleeper01-28-04, 09:02 PM | Im just going to home-brew and use them as seven Imaskari artifacts of devistating power, created by the Imaskari god/kings themselves. One will be a book, containing ALL the info on ancient Imaskari magic, including how they drew upon the weave to their most powerful spells and artifice. It will be en par with the Nether Scrolls. :D  :smirk: |
