I have been attempting to lo in at Candlekeep (www.candlekeep.com) for soem hours now, with no success. Does anyone know the status of that site?

Is it maitenence, or an update, or something more sinister? Have the anti-realms groups finaly struck us a blow?

If anybody knows anything about this, holler at me.

Not sure if this is allowed here, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt (especially as this is an excellent site and is part of the Forgotten Realms Useful Links List (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?s=&threadid=186519)

Well, at least now I know what is going on.

Not sure what you meant about needign to give this the benefit of the doubt, BIg Sis, unless things ahve changed much in my absence the discussion of other sites was more than open, and with the sheeer amount of realmslore found in candlekeeep, most not even found here, it can hardly be considered offtopic for our seemignly single source to Ed to have been cut off.

But, I digress. Asked and answered.

Don't believe it.

What really happened is that an army of Orc, while fleeing Drizzt; tried to take sanctuary there. The librarians were no match. The Orcs are currently taunting Drizzt a second tima...

Got an Email back from Alaundo

"Indeed, Candlekeep has been hit with severe hardware problems. I am currently attempting to recover the site but there has been some data loss. It looks like the amongst other things, that the forum will have lost two months of data :-( Luckily (hopefully!) not that much has been lost, its been a little
quite over the past month anyway with holiday season etc. and the main lore should still be intact.

Please let anyone else you know who visits the site, of the situation. I will hopefully have the site back up late tomorrow.

Fingers crossed. Apologies for the inconvenience

Alaundo"

I told him he shouldnt have let those Cleric of Kossuth into the library

If I followed the rules to the letter I should shut down any thread that either advertises or promotes another site outside of the ads section, or the FR and/or D&D FAQ forums. Also talking about the status of another site (rather than discussing the content) is viewed as offtopic. However I'm not being that rigid and strict. btw those aint my laws ;) If you want to talk about changing these rules than take the discussion over to the MetaBoard (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?s=&forumid=46)

Why did I make any comment in the first place? Firstly it helps to minimise board guest's confusion about what the rules really are. Secondly it shows posters I've seen the thread and made a decision so they don't need to use the "report thread" button.
