Eventually this will include all the different festivals and special days from all the different regions, organisations and religions throughout the Realms. It will cover canon, non-canon and homebrew. I will collate them all, and colour code them This project will not work without your help. I need you to give me events to be added to this calendar. You need to give me the date, the name of the event, a brief description and your source (this last is very important for copyright reasons). It is a day of open council between the people and their rulers, and a day for renewing pacts. It is also a day to prove oneself in tournaments, and duels. All the dates in italics are the equivalent date from the Earth claendar (using the solstices and the equinoxes to make the comparison) - just a bit of fun to help you to get more of a feel for the seasons and the passing of the year.

Is there a format you have in mind (Name of festival, calendar date, theme, region celebration occurs, era in which it was celebrated, references)? I'm thinking I can go through old source documents and novels but I would hate to duplicate someone elses efforts. Thanks, Paul

See the original Ol' Grey Box so we can get the month names and descriptors/titles correct from the get go. -- George Krashos

I wanted to see what people sent us. There is no deadline, hopefully this will grow and grow :) Krash ... I am aware there are lots of contradictions in the various sources about names etc. I've decided to go with the generally accepted view of "canon" - the most recent source trumps anything that went before it, and is the canon version till something newer comes out.

As this is a GROUP project and not just me doing all the work :P it might be an idea for you to write to him (her?) and ask. Faraer birthdays are a great idea. Does anyone actually know when Drizzt was born? Maybe we could even have unbirthdays ... for the archliches of course :D I've clipped the overgrown claws :D , furiously formatted for an hour or two and posted the list we have so far in the first post. I decided to just use color coding for the type of event, not the source. We just don't have enough colors, and it would have really hurt your eyes trying to read it. Pretty, pretty please use the format we've ended up with - the date in bold, a tilde (one of ~ these things ~) a name & very brief description and the source. If you format it for me when you post I'll love you for ever. If you color code it as well I may get so carried away with joy I'll ask you to marry me :w00t:

Eilistraee - no specific days Ghaunadaur - no specific days Kiaransalee - The Lady of the Dead has a single annual holy day - "the Graverending" - celebrated each Midwinter Eve. (Hammer 30th) Lolth - no specific day Selvetarm - no specific for drow but aranea: The holiest day of the year is the 6th of Kythorn, the day on which Zanassu returned after his millennial exile. On this day all of the aranea celebrate their deliverance through fasting and ritual combat. Vhaeraun - Midwinter Night, known to Vhaeraun's followers as the Masked Lord's Embrace, is the most sacred time of the year to the followers of the Masked Lord. (Source: Demihuman Deities) BTW, once the whole list is there, shouldn't we give at least a line or something to each entry, explaining what it is or stands for? Aluve, Zanan!
