| sabbattack09-24-05, 10:57 AM | I bought the module some days ago, and so far i can say it's quite nice but with a few encounters being nigh impossible to handle for the party. I would get into detail but i'm don't have it with me at the moment. I'll reply asa i go home. Anyway, has anyone already tested it with his party? What are your comments? I know i'll be doing a lot of work at some of the later encounters, e.g. the one with the archers at the end is a sure t.p.k (it's not the module's fault, my players sometimes act too dumb to think of "concepts" as cover etc!!). |
| Thysl09-24-05, 12:48 PM | I like it. You're right, there are a couple situations that the party will have a rough time with: Thrull all armored up and ready, a full frontal assault, wyvern and rider... but I don't think its impossible. As for the last ambush, dude, they just got the rings from House Cauladra. :P |
| BobROE09-24-05, 01:02 PM | I don't think it's designed with you assulting the place in mind. All the encounters you can't avoid (the ones on sub levels 2, 3, etc) are of an EL that the party could take. Most of the others you can avoid. So you just sneak in, grab them and sneak back out. |

I´m sorry buddy, but if your players are to stupid to think of cover when they get struck by arrows, then they deserve to die! But sometimes that´s a good thing. When they get killed they start thinking about finding ways to survive longer, and they´ll find out about cover. You might also want to highlight some cover for them, using colorful descriptions of the surroundings and underscoring the fact that the orcs take cover behind trees and so forth. |
| Yom Beekus09-26-05, 06:59 PM | I think it's a pretty good adventure. As for the dumb PC's...eh...haven't we all had a few? I'm just afraid that mine would try a full frontal assault.... |

In that case, maybe the 3rd party will succeed!! :D :D Hey, one other thing. What other areas of Faerun do you suggest? Can anyone suggest how i could transfer this nearer to Cormyr? (our campaign epicenter) |
| Thysl09-26-05, 07:20 PM | Can anyone suggest how i could transfer this nearer to Cormyr? (our campaign epicenter) Thar can very easily be turned into the Stonelands... |
| sabbattack09-26-05, 07:29 PM | Yes that easily popped into mind at first, but i'll have to rearrange the nearest town since the stonelands are quite much further from the nearest big city than 8 days. Also, the encounters will vary but that is fine print. I think i'll go for Stonelands then. |
| Sovereign King09-26-05, 09:32 PM | The Storm Horn mountains could be used they are on the edge of Cormyr and during the death of the dragon story line Orcs and goblins swept down from the mountains to burn pillage and loot. You could easily place the orcs in the Storm horns change the leaders name and apply it to Cormyr. |
