| Sapper221909-14-04, 03:09 PM | Has anyone brought the TOEE into their FR setting? What were the difficulties? what about changing from 1e to 3.5e? thanks Sapper |
| Thelandrach09-14-04, 03:29 PM | umm... you do realize they've printed a 3.0 followup to TOEE? You could say that Dragonspear Castle (on the sword coast north of Iraebor) is actually the TOEE; it has pretty much the same sort of history, as far as getting semi-stomped by big armies and then left to fester for a while. |
| Lashan09-14-04, 03:37 PM | You might want to do a search on these message boards for it. This topic has been discussed often on the boards. I can't recall every chance, but I can name a few. SILVER MARCHES: the area is popular and has a source book with lots of details. There are tons of ruins and other things around. LAKE OF STEAM: I don't recall a lot about this option, but there certainly is a lot going on in the area. Well....heh....that's all I recall. Wish I could remember more. |
| Sapper221909-14-04, 03:38 PM | I am aware of RttTOEE is 3.0 but have not played it. However, I remember getting squashed back in the day by the Frost Giants in TOEE and loved the atmosphere of the original. How does RttTOEE stack up? |
| Tempus66509-15-04, 02:39 AM | Here's something about Rtttoee in the Realms: Clicker-de-click (http://www.davidcwood.com/adnd/campaign/evil/index.php#campaign) |
| Zanan09-15-04, 04:17 AM | Vendui! I placed the Return to the Temple of Elemental Evil adventure into the southeastern area of Damara. While Dragonsbane and his lot - as well as the rest of the "big guns" of Damara - were preparing the Bloodstone Pass for an onslaught of a Vaasan orc horde, they send the characters to the east of their realm "on patrol". And while the main forces ammassed near the Bloodstone Pass, the Temple was indeed rebuild by an evil cult of Vaasa and it's main goal was to create a portal which allowed a large force of the orcs (etc.) to "sneak into" eastern Damara unnoticed and wreak havoc amongst the defenseless areas. |
| diaglo09-16-04, 11:53 AM | you can read what we've done in the Realms here: http://www.enworld.org/forums/showthread.php?t=22106&page=1&pp=20 this includes parts of B2 Keep on the Borderlands. T1 Village of Hommlet. The Banewarrens by Monte Cook. S1 Tomb of Horrors. D1 Descent into the Depths of the Earth. and currently City of the Spider Queen. as well as some Dungeon Magazine sidetreks and the web enhancements for WotC books available from this site. edit: the T1 stuff flowed into The Return to the Temple of ELemental Evil... |
| ruleslawyer09-17-04, 12:23 PM | For a Dalelands solution: The original ToEE is easy to place in the Darkwatch, as a temple to Moander. For Hommlet, Elventree or Ashabenford probably are the best surrogates, although there are other options. For Nulb, I think Scardale fits perfectly; while it's further away from the Darkwatch than one might normally like, it also has the shady reputation that fits well into the place's original nature. As for ToEE deities: I'd say the best matches are Moander (for Zuggtmoy) and Cyric (for Iuz). |
| Zanan09-18-04, 03:45 AM | Vendui! Isn't Zuggtmoy present in the Realms as well? haven't checked F&P etc. so far, but I think she is mentioned somewhere in the F&A series as ally or enemy of some UD deity. |
| warlockco09-18-04, 04:07 AM | As far as I knew of all the Demon Lords, Demon Princes, Dukes of Hell, Princes of Hell, and Arch-Devils were present in the Realms with the exception of Juiblex who was basically edged out by Ghaunadaur. I still have Juiblex in my campaign, as a nuisance to Ghaunadaur. Even though per Demihuman Deities from 2E under the entry for Ghaunadaur it says that Juiblex is not active in the Realms, nor is the Elder Elemental God, both of whom Ghaunadaur assumed the aspects of in the Realms. Could leave Iuz alone, since he is a child of Graz'zt and Graz'zt is active in the Realms. The explaination on Iuz is he's been trapped in there for so long that nearly everyone forgot about him. |
| ruleslawyer09-18-04, 11:42 PM | But Iuz's role in ToEE isn't really that of a trapped deity. That, and he's got a heck of a Greyhawk "stamp" on him. It's sorta like using Elminster in a Greyhawk module... |
| Nexuswolf09-19-04, 07:45 PM | I'm DMing RToEE and I set Hommlet and the Temple in the Western Heartlands south of Iraebor. Really, you can put it just about anywhere. Hommlet is a small enough town not to be on the big map. Nexuswolf |
| Charles Phipps09-26-04, 05:48 PM | Ghaundaur might be preferrable to Moander given the fact that Old Moldly is dead (sniffle) |
| Lashan09-27-04, 06:44 AM | Yeah, but he is ALWAYS coming back. It wouldn't be a big deal if he came back AGAIN. |
| Charles Phipps09-29-04, 08:18 PM | Xvim is a Demigod demon son of a Demoness (Zugummy?) and a Dark Lord (Bane) It only doesn't work Pre-Bane's return, even then maybe Bane is keeping his sons soul back |
