I was flipping through the "Unapproachable East" a friend has and noted no chapter or sections on weapons/tools/etc of the far east, and I'm curious what canon exist on these things; in NWN and BG II Katanas make a show but asides that I've seen absolutely nothing on other eastern items. Can anyone point me at anything? Thanks

Thats half the reason I wanted to know this, there are things in OA I'm not 100% sure would be appropriate in Faerun; it is of course 'my game' and I could just throw them in but I wanted to make sure that there was canon for it or no canon at all on the subject first.

I think you could safely include almost anything in the 3E OA book in Kara-Tur, just be sure to put most of the Rokugan specific stuff in Koryo and Wa.

Officially, the Shadowlands are Rokugan specific, as are the Shilomen naga, nezumi, and Shadowlands oni. Other than that (and maybe a handful of other monsters), the rest -- more or less -- existed in 2E.

For starter, use the general OA material, ignore Rokugan-specific material (including the chapter regarding Rokugan).

If you can, acquire the Kara-Tur boxed set or ESD. It contains relevant campaign information. Just replace 1st edition OA rules with 3e OA rules.

One more thing, for some strange reason, the 3e shugenja class is Rokugan-specific :nonono: The author of the 3e OA recommend you use the shaman class for any non-Rokugan campaign.
