Toril , and the Jade Empire [Archive] - Wizards Community

05-03-05, 07:32 PM i have come here to find out some official information regarding the Jade Empire , is it on the same planet as Faerun (aka Toril) or is it its own independent world separate and apart from all the others, except of course via the planes :P ??

05-03-05, 08:42 PM Never heard of a Jade Empire, outside of some CRPG by that name that I've never played. If you're thinking of the game than it's not even within the same multiverse as DnD and was never intended as such. If you're thinking of Kara-Tur it's on the same world of FR aka Toril.

05-03-05, 08:43 PM Which Jade Empire would that be? That name has been used a lot especially for any Far Eastern style nation. There are a number of Oriental nations in Kara-Tur east of Faerūn. Though I'm uncertain if any of them is known specifically as the "Jade Empire," Shou definitely fits the bill as it is the most like ancient China.

The empire in Rokugan/L5R is now also known as the Jade Empire.

I just use one of the Unknown lands on a disserent continent as Rokugan. But really i would think that they arent on the same world. Its like saying Greyhawk and Faerun are on the same realm just doesnt fit well.

The Scorpion in Rokugan D&D can out sneak attack any sneak attacker, it's sick. There's two of them in a game I'm currently in, almost three, but the player saw he had competition for most underhanded but dutiful ninja/bushi of the year.

Rather than set Rokugan in Toril, the DM had Faerūn in L5R as a distant continent, minor references, nothing direct, I almost missed it. Waterdhavian and Amnish gaijin. :D They were so lost, had to be escorted back to their ships and sent home.
