| Mortavier Shadewalk10-10-05, 11:32 AM | I'm planning on running a campaign with a tsochar (from LoM) sorcerer antagonist. The party will encounter more and more tsochar infiltrators until they meet the big guy and his bodygaurd (tsochar soulknife 18. 4 soulblades. can you say whirlwind attack? hoody-freakin-hoo!) who have taken control of a hive mother and its beholder colony. Now, i plan on starting the characters off with the following: A well known, although low level, priest of Ilmater is reputed to be curing those who suffer from mental illness, but when the players investigate, they discover that the "priest" is a tsochar infesting the mentally ill with tsochar wearing rings of sustenance given to them by the big boss guy. I'm thinking it should be in a country village rather than a place with powerful magic-users in it to avoid detection as long as possible. any suggestions on a good location or comments in general? |

| Kuje3110-12-05, 12:15 PM | Hmm.... a good location..... Anywhere would work really. But my first thought was maybe a border village on Anauroch. :) Then you could also make use of the Sandstorm sourcebook....... You could involve the Zhent's, the Bedine, and whatever else you wanted to add...... |
| Mortavier Shadewalk10-14-05, 10:57 AM | Thats kinda what I was thinking. I guess you just can't beat Anauroch for desolate out of the way places... ;) |

They live near there now in the Lost Vale. |
| WraithCaller10-14-05, 12:35 PM | Or the Harpers and Everaskan elves, since they're probably keeping their eyes on Anauroch, considering how much trouble seems to creep out of it nowadays... |

If the priest is "healing" the lower class or slaves, then the recognized power structure probably wouldn't give it much thought. For an added twist, have the heroes being pushed and supported by the Twisted Rune. They have the connections and knowledge to know what is going on plus they prefer to act through a connection of intermediaries (aka PCs) to solve their problems. So in the end, the players have done a great dead but have also cemented the Twisted Runes power a little more. |

Sounds like a cool idea, I love the whole "bodysnatchers" thing myself and have often tossed around using the T'sochar, I like the cult idea and would go with making this a small first step at testing Faeruns defences, or establishing a "beach-head". I would also like to allow one of my players to play a T'sochar at higher levels and have often wondered just how I could pull this off. |

I hadn't thought of any of that. I was thinking Waterdeep would be a good "home base" but your idea is a hell of alot more flavorful. I'll have to look into calimshan. they could probably use calimport. it seems to be a place where you can find anything or meet anyone. Not tootin' my horn or nothin', but i love the idea of a high level tsochar soulknife. it has enough of an enchantment bonus that the DM could rule that it's four tentacle attacks give it four soulblades. meet that bugger in a dark alley :help: thanks for your suggestions. maybe i'll fill in on what i plan on having the group do when this is over with :evillaugh |
