Uzzy 11-11-07, 08:26 PM	There are clearly a lot of people on this board who care deeply about the Forgotten Realms. I'm probably one of them, thought not quite at the same level of some of the people here. I've only played in the Realms for four years or so. But you know what, I like the Realms too much to spend ages on these forums and others arguing and complaining about what is happening to the Realms. I find my time would be better spent either playing in the Realms, or coming up with new ideas, new plots.. anything really. So, here's what I plan to do. I am not going to post anything negative about the Realms on these boards anymore, at least until the preview articles come out and we have something new to discuss. Instead, I'm going to take the energy I would be using to do that and use it to be creative, be positive. I'm going to work on creating new lore, don't know quite what on yet though, and share it with the community, for feedback and general 'You're rubbish!' comments. ;) Generally though, I love the Realms too much to be continually negative about it. So, I'm going to do something positive. Anyone with me? :)
Rinonalyrna Fathomlin 11-11-07, 08:53 PM	I think that's a great idea.:) I can't promise that I won't say anything negative about the announced changes, myself. I think that many people will find, though, that I haven't been over-the-top about the subject, overall. I plan to keep it that way. I'm also trying not to repeat myself endlessly. Not only does repetition annoy other people, I dislike repeating myself as well.
Charles Phipps 11-11-07, 09:02 PM	I think that's rather silly. You can't have discussion without criticism. Of course, I do get seriously creeped out when people confuse passion about the subject with talk about them. That throws me for a complete loop.
Old Sage 11-11-07, 09:03 PM	I've been with the Realms since the beginning, so I'm content enough with my current trend -- which is to say nothing either positive or negative on a public message board until we all have hard facts to act upon. Speculation is fine, but we must always remember that there is a time and a place for it. My experiences with the Realms means I've had to take both "highs" and "lows" with the Realmslore over the years. The progression to 4e will be no different. So I'll likely just continue to maintain that.

Anyone with me? :) While I will still be nagative about the changes they are undertaking (though I do think I am along with others are getting a little circular in our arguements). I will not bring it to any thread that you start about new ideas. And hopefuly give you insightful feedback. You are right there is no reason for this board to be consumed about one topic.

But I happen to know what befell the drow deities and under which kind of circumstances - as this is clearly spelled out in Lady Penitent I and II. IMHO horrible stuff, not on the author's part though. And I for one will not stomach this just for the sake of it. As I have said before, the Wizards would have done a better job if they had omitted these last two pages from TGHotR ... at least in such detail. Still more than 10 month to wait for any details and I guess quite a bit of animosity towards 4E on the way. (Not from me, of course ...) Anyway, from what I read on here ... including the general apprehension and "lack of posts" ... quite a number of FR gamers have been taken aback by WotC's decisions and I doubt that augurs well for 4E FR in general. But hey, far mightier brains than me have erred on such matters.

Already decided on what I'm going to do, I'm going to try expanding the Scarlet Mummers, coming up with new lore for them. Something about Lliiran Assassins appeals to me!

All this is just really a call to say really "Lets talk about other things." They is no harm in that. I don't know about others but I atleast can talk about different subjects at once on boards...

Agreed--I would like it if people would remember that those who have been critical of the upcoming changes are not just talking about two pages in the back of a recently released official timeline.
