| Xidis10-24-03, 07:13 PM | I am compiling a list of types of shops to incorporate into my world so the PCs have a large variety of places to go and buy equipment, plus it will make the actual designing of the shops easier... I have come up with these: Armorsmith Weaponsmith Blacksmith Alchemist Magic Clothier Cartographer I would also like services such as: Slaver Workhouse Inn Tavern You get the idea, thanks for your contributions... |
| Kuje3110-24-03, 07:28 PM | General store (for all those other items that are listed in the PHB) Bakery Herbalist |
| Cunning Linguist10-24-03, 07:45 PM | Locksmith |
| Shar Baenre10-24-03, 09:01 PM | as dainty as it sounds, a tailor is imparitive... especially if you're in a coastal city where sails and such might need mending. Also, a leather tanner is a good choice. I'll think of more. |
| Shar Baenre10-24-03, 09:09 PM | oops... I just noticed that you already had clothier, so I guess that would supercide the tailor. One thing that I do is make the magic shop broken up into different sub-specialties: alchemist-potions jeweler-rings, amulets (also will appraise jewelry and gems found in adventures for a fee) Scribe (could be in the same office as the cartographer) for scrolls and spellbooks (can't think of a suitable name for one, but) a guy that makes staffs and wands Also, figure in a few stores for just the locals. Not every shop will be suited to help in the adventure... some are just grocery stores. |

| knightserpent10-25-03, 06:59 PM | A TrapSmith or Trapmaker is a must. All those rich folk like to keep their homes and stuff safe from thieves. |
| Harlamond10-25-03, 08:18 PM | Black market equivalents are fun also, some place you can attain illegal goods such as drugs, military grade type items like a wand of fireballs and forged documents that sort of thing. |
| Kuje3110-25-03, 08:26 PM | I'll add another reply and say a Wheelwright(sp?), for some one who can repair and make wagons, and wagon wheels. Or maybe a book shop, who sells text's of all kinds. Or a curio shop, where adventurers sell all those things they find in dungeons, and no longer want. A instrument shop. |
